Emma Watson, best known as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter, was hilariously mistaken for Emma Roberts—star of Scream Queens and We’re the Millers—when HBO Max’s reunion special featured a childhood photo of Roberts in Mickey Mouse ears, incorrectly labeled as Watson.

The viral mix-up sparked laughs—and reminded fans how visually iconic both Emmas are, especially when it comes to personal style. Case in point: Emma Roberts’s off-duty fashion moment that followed.

Both actresses took the mix-up in stride. Watson joked on Instagram, “I was not this cute,” tagging Roberts and adding the hashtag #emmasistersforever. Roberts responded with a playful “Haha! I don’t believe that!” in her Instagram Stories.

HBO Max later acknowledged the error in the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special, thanking fans for spotting it and confirming the image would be corrected. However, their tone was far more serious than the actresses’.
