While the sequined inset on the gown added subtle shine, the real finishing touch came from her silver “Hesper” ankle-strap heels, which brought height, polish, and a clean metallic contrast to the otherwise minimalist look.

More than a decade before this Critics’ Choice appearance, Emmy Rossum earned early recognition for her role as Katie Markum in Clint Eastwood’s 2003 drama Mystic River.

Although her screen time was limited, the role became a pivotal part of the film’s emotional core and helped introduce Rossum to a wider audience before projects like Shameless and The Phantom of the Opera established her as both a television and fashion fixture.

Filmed in Boston when Rossum was 16, Mystic River arrived during a breakout period in her career, alongside The Day After Tomorrow.

The contrast between those early dramatic roles and her polished red-carpet appearances years later reflects how naturally her public style evolved alongside her acting career.

Sam Esmail’s Mr. Robot was one of the night’s biggest winners, with the series taking home several major television awards.

The Phantom of the Opera actress wore a simple and classy black sleeveless dress by Dior. Her form-fitting frock featured a scooped neckline and a sparkling, sequined inset that gave it a chic twist.

The “Shameless” star added further sparkle and glamour to the look by wearing some jewelry, including a pair of diamond earrings, a bracelet, and her engagement ring. Emmy’s best accessory, though, was her megawatt smile.

She wore her hair in a slicked side-parted updo and sported flawless makeup with shimmering pink lipstick.

To complete her look, Emmy carried a metallic Lee Savage clutch that matched her silver open-toe Jimmy Choo heels. These mirrored ankle-strap heels added a few extra inches to the actress’s height, thanks to their about four-inch height.

Why Metallic Silver Heels Never Fully Disappear From the Red Carpet

From mirrored platform sandals to barely-there ankle straps, metallic silver heels continue to return as one of red carpet fashion’s most reliable styling tools.

The finish instantly catches light, sharpens monochrome looks, and adds contrast without overwhelming a gown’s silhouette. Whether paired with sequins, minimalist tailoring, or dramatic couture, silver shoes consistently bring a cooler, more reflective edge that photographs effortlessly across eras of celebrity style.
