Jennifer Lawrence’s Audition for ‘Easy A’

Jennifer Lawrence also auditioned for the same role. “I auditioned for Easy A. I wanted it so bad,” Lawrence said during a THR roundtable.

“Well, guess what?” Stone laughed. “You didn’t get it. You didn’t get it because you suck!” “Outside,” Lawrence responded.

Stone, who in real life only attended one semester at a Catholic high school, could not participate in the audition in person and got the role after auditioning online.

When she was selected for the part of Olive Penderghast, Stone decided to drop out of the 2011 American psychological fantasy action film Sucker Punch. Jamie Chung ended up replacing Emma Stone as Amber in Sucker Punch.

During the filming of a sex scene in the movie, Emma suffered an asthma attack. “I had a little asthma attack, without any prior knowledge that I had asthma,” Stone recalled in an interview with MTV, “during the scene where we had to jump up and down for hours and hours screaming and yelling on the bed.”

“It was humiliating,” Stone added, “because it was the second day of shooting. Here’s what it’s going to be like the whole movie, as I’m breathing into an oxygen tank.”

“The crew was like, ‘She’s going to be a real blast. Wow. Amazing. A 20-year-old having an asthma attack.’ ”

Emma Stone’s Real-Life Education

As a freshman, Emma attended Xavier College Preparatory‍, a Catholic, all-female private high school in Phoenix, Arizona, but dropped out after one semester to become an actress.

“It was in high school, yeah. My freshmen year of high school. So, I only went to…that parlayed into a question…I was home-schooled for high school. So, I didn’t really have a traditional all of high school experience either. But then again, I don’t really see this as…I’m just going to make this a different question,” she responded in an interview with CinemaBlend in September 2010 when asked about her first acting experiences.

“I just realized what I was doing. To me, I don’t think this is really a high school movie. I think it’s more a story of reputation and miscommunication and the speed at which, with technology, that spreads now. So, it didn’t really feel like I was misinformed or had the wrong high school experience to try to bring this to life. You know it needed…Will didn’t really have a traditional high school experience either,” Emma said about the role as high school student Olive Penderghast in Easy A, a 2010 American teen comedy film.
