Hoda Kotb has adopted another baby girl. The 54-year-old American broadcast journalist called into the Today show to let the world know her very exciting news.

“It’s a girl!” she announced very early on Tuesday morning on the show. Hoda added that her name is Hope Catherine Kotb.

The Today show anchor also adopted a baby girl two years ago, Haley Joy Kotb.

According to Hoda, Haley is already bonding with her baby sister. “She was trying to feed her her raspberries and I was like, ‘Not yet, babe,'” Kotb shared, adding that Haley was marching around and letting people know she’s a big sister.

Hoda has been in a relationship with Joel Schiffman, a successful New York financier, for six years. They met at a Wall Street event in 2013 and were together at the hospital when Hope was born.

“I just can’t believe it’s happening, y’all. I can’t.”

“Joel and I were standing there when they hand you the baby,” Kotb said. “And it’s the closest thing to a live birth I think you’ll ever see. In that moment … my heart just grew 10 times. It’s amazing.”

A battle with breast cancer 10 years ago left Hoda Kotb unable to conceive. “One of the things in my life I’ve always wanted was to be a mom,” Kotb told People in 2017. “Sometimes in your life, things just don’t work out for whatever reason, so you say, ‘Well, I wasn’t meant to have that.’ But it was really hard to come to terms with it.”

After the Daily Mail published pictures of the couple, Kotb told Carson Daily on Today in January 2015 that “I almost didn’t go out the night I met him. Cause you know how you don’t feel like it because it’s raining and icky and why not just watch a Law & Order rerun and stay home and eat potato chips – and I’m so glad I went out that night because it was a chance meeting that ended up being kind of a life-transforming event for me.”

We last spotted Hoda Kotb at Kathy Lee Gifford’s goodbye party in New York City. The longtime Today anchor celebrated her final day on the morning show on April 5.
