We love a good outfit showdown because we can see past the designer names to what matters most—the styling details.
This time, it’s a battle of fashion taste between Mexican beauty Jacqueline Bracamontes and bombshell Carmen Electra, who wore a peplum dress in a gorgeous blue hue with leather details on the shoulders from Yigal Azrouël. We love this dress because it mixes masculine and feminine elements quite eloquently.

The former Miss Mexico went in a golden direction. She lathered herself in gold accessories, from gold earrings and bracelets to gold-studded heels.

On the other hand, Carmen opted for plain black pointed-toe pumps and a gorgeous Jimmy Choo photographic guitar acrylic clutch in blue and black.

While we love the pop of gold on Jacqueline’s studded shoes, the gold armpiece and earrings are a bit intrusive for such a dress in black leather and blue fabric.
They took away from the dress rather than enhancing it. We get that the accessories are trying to echo the gold studs on the pumps, but the gold jewelry should have been given a bit more thought—the idea is good, but it’s lacking in execution.

On the other hand, Carmen may look like she opted for the safer choice at first glance, but a closer look at her clutch and shoes shows that her outfit was well thought out. Her shoes had just a tinge of gold so as not to distract from the dress so much. Her acrylic clutch had a guitar print on it that was printed in the same color palette, echoing the rock-and-roll vibe of the leather detail.
No doubt, this battle of peplums goes to Carmen, but we still love this sweet-faced Mexican beauty.
