Karl Lagerfeld has done it again. The designer is well-known for showing off his prowess by picking up-and-coming stars with a strong sense of self, and the latest pick is none other than Janelle Monáe.
Karl dressed Janelle up in Chanel for the 2017 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Janelle Monáe at the 23rd Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) held at The Shrine Auditorium Media Complex in Los Angeles on January 29, 2017.
Barring her shoes, Janelle was dressed in everything Chanel from the 2017 Paris Métiers D’Art Show, which debuted late last year and featured models parading around in a French café setting. The theme was Paris Cosmopolite.
Janelle wore a pair of what we suspect are custom-made Stuart Weitzman sandals. The style is a combination of the “Nudist” and the “Cufflove” embellished sandals.

It’s all in the details: Janelle shows off her Chanel accessories with some funky nail art.
Janelle wins a SAG award for “Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Theatrical Motion Picture.”
Janelle, who started out in the music industry, made it to her first SAG Awards thanks to her character Mary in the film “Hidden Figures.” The entire cast won the “Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Theatrical Motion Picture” award for the film.
“Hidden Figures” centers around the untold story of Mary Jackson, Dorothy Vaughan and Kathering G. Jackson — three African-American women who worked at NASA — and their contribution to the launch of astronaut John Glenn into space.
