The upcoming gothic romance, directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, is inspired by the 1935 classic, Bride of Frankenstein. It takes place in 1930s Chicago and centers on Frank (Christian Bale), who turns to Dr. Euphronius (Annette Bening) to create a companion for him. Their experiment brings a murdered woman back to life as the Bride, portrayed by Jessie Buckley, setting off a chain of events filled with romance, police scrutiny, and sweeping social change.

The film also stars Peter Sarsgaard as Detective Jake Wiles, Jake Gyllenhaal as Ronnie Reed, and Penélope Cruz as Myrna Mallow. It is set to arrive in US theaters on March 6.

Jessie Buckley’s Chanel outfit balanced elegance with a slightly surreal edge, and honestly, I loved every detail, particularly the contrast between the top and the skirt.

Hailing from Chanel’s Métiers d’Art collection presented last December, it featured a fitted black knit top with long sleeves and a sleek turtleneck that hugged her frame, creating a look that felt clean and refined. I liked how simple the top was, which made the design below stand out even more.

The skirt was clearly the centerpiece of Buckley’s entire look. The teal fabric was decorated with scattered black spots that looked almost painterly, like brush strokes across a canvas. It felt less like a typical printed skirt and more like wearable art! What made it even more interesting were the overlapping petal panels. Each section layered softly over the next, giving the skirt dimension, while the edges were finished with delicate white ostrich feathers, adding texture and volume.
