She truly is her mother’s daughter. A fashion model through and through, Kaia Gerber has often shown that she can turn any activity into a fashion moment. And by any activity, I mean even watching a celestial event unfold.
On Monday, Cindy Crawford’s 22-year-old daughter was beaming as she left the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” studios after promoting her new Apple TV show Palm Royale. She seemed to be headed to see the total solar eclipse, much like many other people in New York.
Looking excited, Gerber showed the awaiting crowd her blue ISO-approved solar eclipse glasses, all set to witness the rare phenomenon where the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, blocking the sun and casting a shadow on Earth.

While a total solar eclipse happens once every 18 months, this year’s eclipse was significant since it occurred over a wider path of totality, including a large part of North America. According to NASA, the next total solar eclipse to cross the Lower 48 states of the US will happen on August 23, 2044.
Kaia must have been ecstatic to witness such a rare sight, and I get her. And as a model who rarely gets it wrong, I appreciate that she dressed appropriately for the event. I’m unsure if it was planned, but I think her monochromatic gray outfit worked perfectly for a day filled with shadows.
Her attire consisted of a simple gray long-sleeved shirt with a boat neck, fitted full sleeves, and a loose-fitting bodice slightly cropped to reveal a hint of her flat abs.

Continuing with the monochrome theme of the look, the American Horror Story star paired her simple light gray top with a low-rise, pinstriped charcoal gray midi skirt that sat below her navel and cut a few inches below her knees. The office-style pencil skirt had a rear slit that allowed the model the walk with ease.
Kaia completed her head-to-toe gray look with silver satin mules, a 1990s shoe trend currently seeing a resurgence in fashion. They have open toes and are finished with around 2.5-inch kitten heels, adding just enough height to her already impressive 5’10” stature.
I commend Kaia Gerber’s approach to monochromatic dressing. As I’ve said before, the key to pulling off a monotone look is to wear different hues of the same family color. And Gerber did exactly that!

Kaia decided on minimalistic styling, teaming her gray outfit with a gold watch over her left sleeve.
Her shiny brunette hair was styled in tousled waves, flowing freely around her shoulders, while her natural beauty was enhanced with soft pink makeup.

Earlier, Gerber made her talk show debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she discussed her new Apple TV+ series Palm Royale.
Kaia wore a powder blue strapless midi dress from Tod’s Spring 2024 collection for her appearance. It’s a basic tube dress, but I like how it accentuated the model’s slender frame.
She teamed the look with the same silver open-toe mules and fastened the $15,600 Tabayer “Oera” 18k Fairmined white gold earrings set with 2.31ct. diamonds to her ears.

Kaia Gerber’s Role in the Period Comedy-Drama Palm Royale
Set in 1969, Palm Royale centers on outsider and former beauty queen Maxine Simmons (Kristen Wiig), determined to infiltrate and gain acceptance in the elite Palm Beach high society.
Kaia Gerber has a recurring role in the Apple TV series. She’s playing Mitzi, “a manicurist, an aspiring model, and most importantly, Maxine’s trusted confidante.”

The official synopsis reads: “Palm Royale is a true underdog story that follows Maxine Simmons (Kristen Wiig) as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society. As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, Palm Royale asks the same question that still baffles us today: ‘How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?'”
Palm Royale, which debuted on Apple TV on March 20, will have ten episodes, with a new episode dropping every Wednesday.
