In November 2013, Jennifer Lawrence surprised everyone with a simple yet classy and sophisticated ensemble at the German premiere of the American dystopian science fiction action film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Trish Summerville, the BAFTA-nominated costume designer for the Hunger Games: Catching Fire, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the costumes worn in the film.
While many assumed that Alexander McQueen designed Katniss’ wedding gown, Summerville revealed that it was actually created by a young Indonesian designer named Tex Saverio.

“Katniss’ white gown is by a designer named Tex Saverio in Jakarta. He is amazing! I found his designs quite some time ago and saved his information for a perfectly fitting project, then came Catching Fire – perfect!” Summerville said.
The gown is made of white silk and features a delicate floral pattern. It is elegant and practical, perfectly fitting Katniss’s character.
“We did several Skype calls with sketches to work together in designing the wedding dress. I had seen a dress he designed with a similar metal bodice, and I wanted to incorporate it into our wedding-dress design,” Summerville added.
Cinta Laura Kiehl, a German-Indonesian actress, singer, dancer, businessperson, and model, turned heads at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
She wore a stunning gown by Indonesian designer Tex Saverio. The gown was made of white silk and featured a delicate floral pattern.

Cinta Laura Kiehl’s mother, Herdiana (Soekarseno), is an Indonesian of Sundanese descent. Her father, Michael Kiehl, is a German hotelier.
“Inspired by a powerful woman in Indonesian folklore. She is the Queen of the Southern Sea: elegant, bold and captivating. So proud to be representing Indonesia on Cannes Film Festival’s red carpet wearing such an exquisite piece showcasing my beautiful heritage. Grateful! 🤍,” she wrote on Instagram.

Saverio has previously experienced the limelight before. In 2011, Lady Gaga adorned one of the Indonesian designer’s elegant gowns for a feature in Harper’s Bazaar.
Additionally, in the March 2013 edition of Elle, Kim Kardashian graces the pages wearing a stunning hand-embroidered gown by Saverio, styled by Gaga’s fashion director, Nicola Formichetti.

As a Dior brand rep, Jennifer unsurprisingly wore an elegant dress coat from Christian Dior for the event.
The actress looked simple yet stylish in a double-breasted dress coat from the designer’s Resort 2014 collection, which featured a subtle high-low hem with pleating and intricate embroidery.

The Oscar winner shared a laugh with co-stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Elizabeth Banks while the gorgeous ensemble cast posed for photographs.

Josh and Liam looked dapper in their suits, and Elizabeth Banks looked incredible in a stunning Elie Saab gown.

Elizabeth’s strapless gown featured all-over gold-and-silver sequins and a plunging neckline.

While we didn’t get a good peek at Elizabeth’s shoes, Jennifer’s were clearly on display.
Jennifer finished her ensemble with a pair of Stuart Weitzman “Nudist” sandals.

The “Nudist” sandals from Stuart Weitzman feature thin straps, textured leather, and a simple silhouette.

Jennifer wore the strappy heels in ivory, but they are available in two gorgeous colors for you to choose from on Zappos and Nordstrom:

Jennifer switched up her look — and her shoes — for a separate promotional event for the same film held the night before in London.
Once again, Jennifer joined co-star Elizabeth Banks, who looked beautiful in a dramatic sage dress and classic nude pumps.

For the London premiere of the same film, held at the Royal Courts of Justice, the then-23-year-old actress stepped out in a flirty all-black ensemble reminiscent of a 1920s flapper girl.
The sleeveless dress is from Louis Vuitton’s spring 2014 collection and features sheer panels, an all-over embroidered design, and a sexy side slit in addition to bead and crystal embellishments.
She finished off her look with dramatic eye makeup, diamond stud earrings, and a pair of black strappy “Chaos” sandals from Manolo Blahnik.

These glossy black patent leather shoes feature adjustable ankle straps, buckle closures, and covered heels.

These elegant and timeless strappy heels are perfect for elevating a classy and sophisticated ensemble to new heights.

The “Chaos” ankle-strap sandals from Manolo Blahnik are also available in a multitude of colors and style variations for you to choose from on Farfetch:
