She has stated in the past that she doesn’t really care about what people think of her wardrobe choices. At the New York City premiere of her Amazon Prime Video series Expats, Nicole Kidman decided to show off more than just her sexy back, proving she still has it.
Kidman was criticized in 2022 for wearing skimpy schoolgirl attire for her February 2022 Vanity Fair magazine cover. In an interview with Stellar magazine, she described her decisions as “teenage choices, ” saying she makes “the most random, crazy choices” and never considers the consequences.
“Part of my brain just doesn’t think like that. I just go, ‘Oh, I’m going to wear that; it reminds me of my school uniform.’ Or, ‘Oh my God, yeah, I’d love to do that.”’ She went on to say that she intentionally stays away from online criticism as it will only prevent her from doing what she loves.

A Daring Look: Kidman’s Versace Gown Details
Braving the cold NYC weather, Kidman flaunted not just her bare back but also her side boob and flat abs in the gorgeous long, black dress that had an allover cutout design, including an entirely open back that extended to the sides.
In addition, it featured a structured front with a cowl neck held in place by thin spaghetti straps and a floor-sweeping long skirt with a green satin lining and a daring slit on one side, allowing the I Love Lucy actress to parade her long slender legs.

Glamour and Style: Kidman’s Complete Look for the Premiere
A selection of diamond jewelry by Roberto Coin gave Kidman’s evening dress a glamorous touch.
A diamond-encrusted watch, a couple of bangles, a few rings, and a pair of long diamond earrings were carefully selected by celebrity stylist Jason Bolden—who has dressed stars like Storm Reid, Cynthia Erivo, and Vanessa Hudgens—to glam up the actress’s party dress.
The 5’10” beauty boosted her height further by slipping into a pair of pointy black heels. The understated footwear choice went perfectly with her dress, which was the focal point of the ensemble.
Gucci Westman created Kidman’s seductive beauty look. She accentuated her blue eyes with mascara, eyeliner, and copper-toned smokey eyeshadow, then finished her look with rosy cheeks and lipstick.
Her blonde tresses were worn loose, beautifully cascading over her shoulder in gentle waves.

Switching Styles: From Premiere Glam to After-Party Elegance
Later that day, Nicole traded in her revealing long black dress for a modest little black dress for the premiere after-party of her upcoming Amazon Prime Video series, Expats.
She glimmered in a black boucle mini dress with glittering threads for a glamorous touch. It also featured long sleeves, gold buttons along the center front, and a knee-length skirt.
Nicole wore the elegant LBD with black tights and rounded out the look with the same Roberto Coin diamond jewelry.

Nicole Kidman Faces Tragedy in Hong Kong in Expats Drama Series
Filmed in Hong Kong, Expats is an upcoming Amazon Prime Video drama based on the 2016 novel The Expatriates by Janice Y. K. Lee.
The official synopsis reads: “Set against the complex tapestry of Hong Kong residents, Expats depicts a multifaceted group of women after a single encounter sets off a chain of life-altering events that leaves everyone navigating the intricate balance between blame and accountability.”
The story centers on three American women whose lives become entwined following a family tragedy.
Kidman plays Margaret, a wealthy architect who moves her family, including her husband Clarke (Brian Tee) and three kids, to Hong Kong. There, she makes friends with other expats, including Mercy (Ji-young Yoo), a fresh Columbia graduate, and Hilary (Sarayu Blue), a housewife struggling to have a child. Margaret experiences a family tragedy, which brings the three affluent expats closer. The story takes a different turn when it is revealed that Mercy unintentionally played a part in the tragedy.
Beginning with two episodes on January 26, 2024, the six-part limited series will air weekly until the finale on February 23, 2024.
