She’s considered one of the biggest musicians in the world today, having broken multiple records with her debut single, Drivers License, in 2020 and debut solo album Sour in 2021.

Just recently, the 19-year-old global pop star beat out some of the biggest names in the music industry, including The Beatles, Janet Jackson, and Kanye West, for Best Music Documentary at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Taking to the stage to collect her Golden Popcorn, Olivia Rodrigo, who’s one of the hottest celebrities today, showed her penchant for vintage pieces as she opted for an archival Jean Paul Gaultier 1990 creation.

Her stylists, Los Angeles-based sisters Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo, were able to source this vintage black dress from the vintage store Opulent Addict. “We’ve always loved the powerful, feminine silhouette of this Jean Paul Gaultier dress,” the duo told Vogue.

“For a fresh take, we crisscrossed the straps in the front, which made the look feel a bit younger.”

It’s a flattering form-fitting dress that featured a cleavage-baring cone corset bodice with a satin paneling, a zip-up front, a crisscross halter strap, and a super tight midi skirt that accentuated her figure.

Giving the vintage look a modern twist, the Deja Vu singer paired the BDSM-style dress with sleek strappy black heels from Alexander Wang.

Available at Shopbop and Farfetch, the “Dahlia” sandals are made of grained leather and feature an adjustable ankle strap with crystal-cut logo hardware, crisscross vamp straps, and 3-inch heels.

Her makeup artist Lilly Keys gave her cat-eye makeup with peachy blush and pink lipstick, while nail artist Betina Goldstein painted the singer’s nails in metallic pewter color.

Meanwhile, hairstylist Clayton Hawkins created a funky Y2K-inspired hairstyle as he parted her dark tresses diagonally and pulled them back into two spiky space buns.

As for her accessories, the Good 4 U hitmaker wore multiple rings, including a Panconesi “Solar” pave ring and a pair of $188 Outhouse “Oh Celeste Nova” earrings, featuring spike detailing dusted with elegant pearls and crystals.

Although she lost the Best Musical Moment to Heartstopper, the Filipino-American singer’s first-ever MTV Movie & TV award was “so special” to her. She won the Best Music Documentary for Driving Home 2 U, based on making her debut album Sour.

“This album means so much to me, and it was so fun to make a film to give context and meaning. I made Driving Home 2 U for my fans who couldn’t see me on tour,” Olivia said in her speech.

“Winning this award is so special because it was voted for by the fans. And I am so, so, so grateful for everyone who has supported me, my music, and this film. I wouldn’t be here without you guys. The love you guys have shown to me is so unbelievably meaningful and life-changing.”
