Designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy Haute Couture, the gown balanced heavy black velvet against a sculptural white cage-style skirt constructed from layers of tulle and crinoline. The architectural contrast gave the dress a sharp, almost graphic quality that naturally pulled attention toward Rihanna’s white pumps.
