We were quite surprised to see Rosie Huntington-Whiteley making an appearance on the red carpet of Warner Brothers’ Environmentalist Media Awards because she really doesn’t strike us as an advocate for the planet.

While we could be wrong about her opinion on the environment, it turns out that the statuesque British model was there to present an award to her “Mad Max” writer and director, George Miller.

She stars as The Splendid Angharad (also known as “Splendid” or simply “Angharad”), Immortan Joe’s favorite wife in Mad Max: Fury Road.
While appearing heavily pregnant in the movie, she wore a prosthetic stomach while filming in Namibia and Australia.

“Incredible effort was made to make the stomach seem as real as possible—every single one of my freckles was put on the stomach. It was really interesting taking it off and putting it on in the morning,” she told Vogue about the prosthetic stomach made by Odd Studio, an Oscar & BAFTA winning special makeup & creature effects company based in Sydney.
“It changed the way I walked, the way I sat down. My back was hurt by the end of the day and I would eat my lunch off the top of my belly!”

Rosie presented George Miller with the lifetime achievement award, whose “Mad Max” films expressed his take on the kind of wrath we will be facing if all environmental issues continue to play out years from now.

The actress wore a dress by Cushnie et Ochs, which she accessorized with Anita Ko jewelry and Jimmy Choo heels.

Rosie also took time out to post a lengthy message about George Miller on her Instagram.
