Who run the world?

Girls.

And with what?

…Shoes, perhaps?

Beyonce’s latest music video for her single “Run the World (Girls)” premiered on American Idol’s Top 3 performance episode last Wednesday, and we have to admit: We’re in awe of both the video’s message itself and the wardrobe choices.

As it turns out, Beyonce and her stylist Ty Hunter’s visions of a post-apocalyptic world are incredibly stylish.

Here’s a look at all the shoes featured in during the minutes-long music video that was directed by American filmmaker/producer Francis Lawrence.

Beyonce selected an Alexander McQueen ensemble as the first regal look in her video about ruling the world.

Beyonce wore a look straight off the Alexander McQueen Fall 2010 runway which — as you may know — is the very last collection McQueen himself worked on.

In this still, Beyonce is wearing the Alexander McQueen Grinling Gibbons gold heeled thigh high show boots, which retailed for $3,995 at Saks Fifth Avenue when they were available.

Considering McQueen’s recent death and Beyonce’s apparent endorsement, we’d bet that these shoes are worth more than their retail price now.

Fun fact: This entire scene is brought to us by Beyonce’s own closet. Every woman in this shot is wearing something from Beyonce’s personal wardrobe.

Beyonce’s next look was full-on fringe from head-to-toe.

The singer danced around in a black fur vest from LA designer Brian Lichtenberg and a pair of fringed shorts from designer Norma Kamali.

Beyonce finished off this look with a custom gold body plate from Giuseppe Zanotti and black fringe sandals made by Ty Hunter himself.

Following the fringe dance sequence, Beyonce wore a couple of couture gowns from the Givenchy and Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011 Couture collections.

Afterward, she skipped straight into the future with her footwear pick.

Beyonce donned a gold-scaled dress from Gareth Pugh’s Fall 2011 collection, and some of the most interesting shoes we’ve ever seen — the Gareth Pugh Starship Enterprise heels.

Afterward, we ended up catching a glimpse of a slightly more sensible pair of shoes.

This look was shown during sneak previews of the video, so the appearance of these Sergio Rossi Fall 2010 Talisman gladiator boots shouldn’t be any surprise.

Beyonce paired the studded-and-feathered boots with a yellow Emilio Pucci Spring 2010 dress that featured thigh-high slits.

After writhing in the sand in a Norma Kamali Aztec black jumpsuit, Beyonce slipped into her last look for the video.

Beyonce donned an amazing sequined gown from Emilio Pucci’s Fall 2011 collection, but unfortunately, paired the sleeved dress with an underwhelming pair of combat boots.

We have to admit — after a series of jaw-dropping high fashion shoes, wrapping up with these combat boots was a bit of a disappointment.
