While promoting the 2014 American epic biblical drama Noah, British actress Emma Watson shared a memorable behind-the-scenes moment from filming with co-star Douglas Booth. In one physically demanding scene that required them to run toward each other and embrace, repeated takes left Watson with bleeding lips and Booth with a sore, swollen nose.
While the intensity of the moment showcased their dedication as actors, it also highlighted the stark contrast with Watson’s poised, polished presence during the Noah press tour, especially her standout red carpet appearance in Jimmy Choo heels and a stunning Ralph Lauren gown.

“We had this one scene where we had to run at each other and fit into this perfect passionate kiss. We were fine for the first four and five takes, but by the sixth we were just nutting each other. My lip was bleeding, I think I hurt Doug’s nose, we were exhausted. It was just not pretty at all,” Emma told ITV’s Lorraine.
Douglas Booth Reflects on Chemistry With Emma Watson and Their Long Friendship
During the European premiere of the film at London’s Leicester Square, Douglas Booth openly expressed his ease in portraying Emma Watson’s on-screen lover, attributing it to their seven-year friendship.
Booth shared, “It’s easier because you trust each other, so you’re not nervous, you feel very comfortable.”
When asked if he had ever harbored a crush on the Harry Potter beauty, Booth playfully admitted that he did, stating, “Didn’t we all?”

Acknowledging his genuine fondness for Watson, he commented, “She’s wonderful. It’s been strange because I’ve watched her grow up in those movies, everyone feels like they sort of know her, which they really don’t.”
“She’s a fantastic girl and if you want to know something about her, she’s so wonderfully kind, so giving. She’s so intelligent and smart. She’s a great great girl,” he added.
Emma Watson and Douglas Booth have an age difference of 2 years. Emma Watson was born on April 15, 1990, and Douglas Booth was born on July 9, 1992. This means that Watson is two years older than Booth.
