There are plenty of celebrities who share a name, but at some point, they become so famous it seems odd that anyone would mix them up.

Even still, such was the case for Emma Watson and Emma Roberts.

The Mixup

Watson is best known for her role as Hermione Granger in the blockbuster Harry Potter series, while Roberts is known for several smaller projects like We Are the Millers and Scream Queens.

The mixup happened when a photo of a young Roberts in Mickey Mouse ears was included in HBOMax’s Harry Potter reunion special. The photo was mistakenly credited as Watson.

The two girls kept good spirits about the whole mixup, Watson calling out the mistake by posting the photo herself on Instagram and captioning it with “I was not this cute,” finishing by tagging the correct actress and adding a laughing emoji, along with the hashtag #emmasistersforever.

Roberts reposted the photo to her Instagram stories saying, “Haha! I don’t believe that!”

The Aftermath

The producers of the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special admitted their mistake and applauded fans for noticing the flaw.

However, their response to their error wasn’t quite as lighthearted as that of the two actresses. They noted that they would fix the error, though.

We’re not quite sure how this mixup happened or where they got the photo, but we must admit it could happen to anybody.

And if any two celebrities are going to be mistaken for one another, we’re glad it was a duo with understanding responses to make for a fun day on the internet.

In April 2016, Emma Roberts enjoyed some time away from the camera and indulged in some shopping in West Hollywood.

The then 25-year-old Blow actress opted for a chic laid-back look, wearing a vintage Mickey and Minnie Mouse tee and a pair of black ripped skinny jeans by Rag & Bone.

“Scream Queens” had just been renewed for the second season. It had been announced that filming would begin in the summer of 2016 and the setting would be a summer camp.

Emma added a quirky element to the look with a pair of leopard boots and kept the ensemble cool and chic with a pair of Ray-Ban round aviators and an Anya Hindmarch leather backpack.

She accessorized with a couple of gold earrings, bracelets, and a Cartier watch. The niece of Julia Roberts casually wore her red tresses down and sported barely-there makeup.
