Lea Michele starred as Wendla Bergmann in the rock musical “Spring Awakening” that opened on Broadway at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on December 10, 2006, and closed on January 18, 2009, after 859 performances and 29 previews.

Glee’s co-creator Ryan Murphy wrote the part of Rachel Berry for Michele after being impressed by her performance in Broadway’s Spring Awakening.
At the age of 22, Lea officially got the role in late 2008 after blowing everyone away with her version of Les Miserables’ “On My Own” in the audition in Los Angeles.

“I start singing my first song, and the piano player skipped through the second verse, so right in the middle of my song, I was like, ‘Excuse me!'” she says in a featurette on the Glee Season 1 DVD, Vol. One: Road to Sectionals (available on Amazon). “Very Rachel Berry!”
“I come from a world of musical theater, so I never really thought I would be on a television show!”

For her performance as Rachel Berry, Lea received the 2009 Satellite Award for Best Actress in a Series – Comedy or Musical, three People’s Choice Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
She was also nominated for the 2009 Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy, and the 2010 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

In September 2015, it looked like Lea Michele’s workouts were paying off!
The singer made an appearance at “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in a very distracting — i.e.: revealing — peach-colored dress after changing out of a more modest outfit that she wore during an appearance on “The Talk” earlier that day.

Idina Menzel’s lookalike ditched her usual dress-and-heels ensemble as she arrived at ABC Studios looking like she walked straight out of a fashion lookbook.

Lea arrived in a top and pants by Alice + Olivia, which she complemented with a clutch from Balenciaga and platform heels from Brian Atwood.
We must say that we are quite digging this monochrome look on her.

The actress later changed to a much more revealing dress by Bec & Bridge, which she styled with shoes from Casadei.
