Nicole Kidman’s latest film is proving to be a little too close for comfort. The 49-year-old is currently promoting her latest film, Lion, in which she plays an Australian mother who adopts a child.

The Far and Away actress has two adopted children, Connor and Isabella, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise. The children chose to live with their adoptive father, sharing in his Scientology belief as well.

Nicole wore a romantic and intricately-made dress by Rodarte, which featured appliques, metallic embroidery, sequins, lace trimmings, and a lot of sheer fabric.

The actress polished her look with a purse from Nathalie Trad, jewelry from Fred Leighton, and metallic Figaro sandals from Rupert Sanderson.

Nicole did not expound on questions about connecting to her role as an adoptive mother. The actress has always kept her children’s lives private and remains tight-lipped to this day. Nicole did, however, stress the importance of being mothered.
The 49-year-old has two daughters with her husband, Keith Urban — one born naturally and one through a surrogate. Nicole’s Rupert Sanderson “Figaro” sandals are no longer available online.
