While her portrayal of Princess Diana in Spencer sparked global awards conversation, Kristen Stewart’s red-carpet choices during that era were equally noteworthy for their departure from her usual aesthetics.

When she arrived at the 31st Annual Gotham Awards at Cipriani Wall Street on November 29, 2021, she traded her frequent avant-garde silhouettes for a look that leaned into classic Hollywood femininity.

Accompanied by her Still Alice co-star Julianne Moore, who presented her with a Performer Tribute honor, Stewart used the New York City event to showcase a rare collaboration with a rising American label.

Trading Chanel for August Getty Atelier at the Gotham Awards

Surprisingly, Kristen didn’t wear Chanel for the occasion. She instead chose a strapless column pink gown from the American fashion brand August Getty Atelier.

Showcasing her slender frame and arm tattoos, the feminine number features a simple yet classy design, with a cinched waist and a maxi skirt.

Completing the Look with Neon Tamara Mellon Sandals

The dress also had a side slit that allowed us to glimpse her Tamara Mellon “Frontline” sandals in matching neon pink, selected by stylist Tara Swennen.

These sandals feature a three-strap design with clear PVC inserts, a back zip, and about 4-inch heels.

Minimalist Accessories and Chanel Beauty Glam

Letting her dress do the talking, Kristen kept her jewelry to a minimum. She opted for a bare neck, skipped any earrings, and accessorized with just a few silver rings, including a $30 Pandora ME ring, a $490 Gabriela Artigas Chain Ring, a Chanel Camelia Sculpture J2940 Onyx Rose ring with diamonds, and two Jillian Dempsey rings.

Hairstylist Adir Abergel pulled her tresses up into a bow-shaped bun. At the same time, makeup artist Beau Nelson used Chanel Beauty to further glam up Kristen’s look, applying dramatic cat-eye makeup and nude lip color.

What Kristen Stewart Said About the Oscars

During Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast, Kristen shared her thoughts about possibly nabbing her first Oscar for portraying Princess Diana in Pablo Larraín’s Spencer movie.

“I don’t give a sh*t,” the actress said, adding that “the Oscars are such a funny thing.”

“There are so many incredible movies and performances that barely get seen. It definitely says something about where we’re at as a cumulative presence—what we’re looking at, what we care about. I really appreciate that something that I was involved in, has ignited such a large conversation. We don’t make movies to not connect with each other.”
