Last month, Alixandra von Renner was spotted at the Producers Guild of America Awards. On Saturday, she was seen hitting the red carpet for the 65th Annual Directors Guild of America Awards at Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles.

We appreciate that this budding actress seems to be experimenting. At the PGA Awards, she wore a black dress with unusual feathery cuffs and paired it with equally unusual cutout pump booties by Miu Miu.
At the DGA Awards, on the other hand, she donned a body-hugging mid-calf black dress with ruffled, beaded sleeves paired with silver-tone studded “Areilla” boots by Christian Louboutin. She likes black, or perhaps she plays safe because it’s hard to go wrong with a black dress.
The dress she wore to the DGA Awards is feminine and very sophisticated. Her boots, too, are chic; we’ve even spotted other celebrities, such as Mariah Carey, Nicole Scherzinger, and Ashley Olsen, in the same shoes.

In the case of Alixandra, however, the boots didn’t look good with her dress. She was probably trying to toughen up, but she could’ve chosen a pair of gladiator sandals instead.
