The Hollywood Foreign Press Association held a luncheon the other day, and we were quite happy to find a good number of A-listers attend the event in showstopping heels.
Interestingly, the outfits that came with the shoes ranged from sweet and sophisticated to unexpectedly frumpy. Yes, sadly, we found some not-so-desirable looks sashay down the red carpet. In fairness, however, all the ladies arrived in stylish envy-worthy footwear, so we were more than willing to overlook the fashion misses.
Check out who scored and who failed fashion-wise at the HFPA Installation Luncheon, and tell us who you think was the best-looking chick at the gathering.
1. Diane Kruger in Stuart Weitzman
Diane Kruger was one of the best dressed at the event. She wore a patterned dress from Carven that was very Saville Row–inspired and finished off the look with sexy gray ankle-strap sandals from Stuart Weitzman. It was a very simple look; she didn’t even have any accessories on. However, all the pieces were well appointed, and they complemented each other perfectly.

2. Nicole Kidman in Nicholas Kirkwood
Nicole Kidman, who will play as Grace Kelly in her next film, ‘Grace of Monaco’, arrived at the luncheon in a gorgeous Narciso Rodriguez dress paired with stunning gold-trimmed ankle-strap sandals from Nicholas Kirkwood.

Below is the nude version of Nicole’s Nicholas Kirkwood heels. These sandals come in “nude kid” and are trimmed with black patent and metallic leather materials.

3. Olivia Wilde in Jimmy Choo
Olivia Wilde was a vision in print at the event. She wore a beautiful frock from Clover Canyon with a green clutch and a pair of green ankle-strap sandals, both from Jimmy Choo. Olivia’s ‘Chain’ sandals feature ultra-thin delicate gold chain straps all over.

4. Jo Champa in Christian Louboutin
Jo Champa’s heels were quite unmistakable as she walked the event’s red carpet the other day. The red bottoms simply spoke Christian Louboutin. We couldn’t find the exact pair online, but a much sleeker rendition in silver is available at Neiman Marcus.

5. Piper Perabo in Jimmy Choo
‘Covert Affairs’ cutie Piper Perabo certainly looked like she needed a few tips from Paris Hilton on how to pose for the camera. Nonetheless, she turned heads with her sexy snake-print Jimmy Choo ankle-wrap pumps. The Cedric Chalier black strapless frock she chose for the occasion was indeed pretty. However, we couldn’t help but think that it didn’t go well with her stunning heels. Would you agree?

Piper’s ‘Devote’ pumps come with really pointed toes and feature gold-detailed ankle straps inspired by handcuffs. What do you think of the unique silhouette?

6. Taylor Schilling in Sophia Webster
Taylor Schilling color-coordinated from head to toe by opting to wear a bright persimmon-hued dress from Roksanda Ilinsic with strappy sandals from Sophia Webster in the same poppy color.

Taylor’s Sophia Webster ‘Finn’ lace-up heels feature double buckled ankle straps and dainty lace-up closures at the front. A more playful version in 3D rose petal print is available at Saks Fifth Avenue.

7. Terri Seymour in Valentino ‘Rockstud’ Pumps
Terri Seymour wore white lace separates for the occasion and finished the look with studded ‘Rockstud’ pumps from Valentino. We didn’t exactly enjoy looking at the outfit, but her studded pumps are certainly to die for. They’re too iconic to ignore.

8. Amber Heard in Casadei Pointy Pumps
We’re huge fans of Amber Heard, but we seriously can’t say the same for the white two-piece outfit she wore for the occasion. It did little to flatter her gorgeous figure. In fact, it made her look frumpy! Amber finished her outfit with off-white pointy pumps with pin-thin heels — a truly sexy pair from Casadei.

Casadei Contrast Stiletto Pumps, $690
9. Eva Longoria in Jimmy Choo ‘Lang’ Heels
Eva Longoria kept her look ultra simple for the luncheon by choosing to wear a classic white shift dress from Gucci and nude strappy ‘Lang’ sandals from Jimmy Choo. This style features sexy curved straps and super high heels that make your legs look like they could go on forever — quite ideal for Eva’s petite frame.
