The annual Serpentine Gallery Summer Party in London, which raises funds for exhibitions, is not just about the arts; it’s also a grand display of stunning outfits.

And this year, Diane Kruger made a bold statement that left attendees in awe at the Serpentine Galleries on Tuesday, June 27.

The 46-year-old actress showcased a unique look that perfectly encapsulated her willingness to experiment with fashion.

Diane, who had last attended the event 16 years ago, ensured that she stood out from the crowd with an all-black ensemble from David Koma’s Fall 2023 collection.

The centerpiece of the National Treasure star’s ensemble was a corset top that pushed boundaries. With sheer lining around the stomach and a low-cut sweetheart neckline, it boldly bared her chest.

Its straps gracefully wrapped over her shoulders and around her neck, tied with a delicate black tulle flower, a signature feature of the designer’s collection.

Diane opted for black full-arm gloves to complement the daring corset, adding an edgy touch to her overall look. The operatic gloves perfectly contrasted with her layered ruffle mini skirt that elegantly puffed out from the fitted waist, exuding subversive playfulness.

Her dress itself was a standout piece, requiring minimal additional accessories. The Wicker Park actress opted for a few simple elements from Repossi jewelry to enhance the dress’ allure.

Adding a unique flair to her outfit, Diane wore a pair of edgy David Koma faux leather over-the-knee boots with silver-toned metal heels and sharply pointed-toe caps, echoing the edginess of her attire.

To achieve a harmonious balance between edgy and effortless, the mom-of-one styled her blonde hair in loose waves and kept her makeup simple yet elegant.

Inspired by the legendary silent movie star Marlene Dietrich, the custom design perfectly captured Diane’s willingness to step outside her comfort zone. David Koma’s playful use of sheer skirts, bustiers, and thigh-high boots beautifully complemented her adventurous spirit.

In an interview with British Vogue, Diane expressed her excitement about her Serpentine Gallery Summer Party look, stating, “It definitely feels a little daring for me. But, you know, if not now… then when?”

Reflecting on her fashion choices over the years, including her iconic Grecian-inspired white gown at the event in 2007, the former model emphasized her newfound desire to have fun and be more adventurous.

She shared, “I feel like maybe I like to have a little more fun and be a little more adventurous than back then. I’m still drawn to similar silhouettes, but I like dressing outside of my comfort zone more.”

Diane credited David Koma, the Tbilisi-born designer known for his sizzling party outfit creations, for helping her embrace this newfound spirit.

She spoke highly of him, saying, “I’ve worn him a few times, and I think he’s the coolest. His vision for women is unapologetically cool and sexy.”
