Diane Kruger has that chic, easy, and relatable style that I’ve always loved, and her recent appearance on Today was another reminder of why it works so well.

While she was there to talk about her two series, Little Disasters and The Seduction, her outfit quietly stole my attention.

As we head into 2026, I know a lot of us will be reaching for our leggings more often—and if there’s ever been a masterclass in how to style them without looking lazy, Diane Kruger just delivered it.

In contrast to Kerry Washington, who appeared on Today the same day in a more grand, dramatic ensemble, Diane’s outfit felt refreshingly low-key and real. She has a way of making simple pieces feel polished and cool, and this look captured that perfectly.

Elevating Leggings With a Luxe Prada Polo

Arriving at the NBC studios, she proved once again that her off-duty style is all about ease, polish, and smart proportions. This is the kind of look I’d instantly save for inspiration!

Diane wore a simple pair of black leggings that looked comfortable yet polished. She paired them with a brown Prada lisle-cotton polo shirt, and I loved how the combination looked effortless yet elevated. The deep ebony-brown shade was understated yet chic, adding warmth to the look.

The shirt had a straight, relaxed silhouette that skimmed her body just right. It also featured a crisp shirt collar, a front button closure, and a patch pocket, finished with a Prada logo label. I particularly loved the contrasting trims and raw-cut hems, which added a modern, utilitarian edge and kept the look from feeling too basic. You can get this shirt for $1,850 at Farfetch.

What really pulled the outfit together for me was the long black coat draped over her shoulders. It instantly elevated the leggings-and-shirt combo and pushed the look into winter territory.

Minimal Accessories That Keep the Look Polished

Diane kept her accessories refreshingly minimal. She opted for a few delicate rings and slim hoop earrings, just enough to add a hint of sparkle.

She carried the Jil Sander “Goji” pillow small bag in black, which I thought was the perfect daytime companion. Made from polished calfskin leather, it featured textured detailing, twin shoulder straps, a front logo stamp, and a chic kiss-lock closure. It’s currently on sale for $1,615 (from $2,990) at Ssense.

Her blonde hair was loose, with soft waves framing her face, and her makeup remained natural, with soft pink tones that enhanced her features.

Coperni Knee-High Boots That Anchor the Outfit

A pair of Coperni knee-high boots completed the ensemble and, in my opinion, did most of the styling. They looked like classic pointed-toe pumps at first glance, but extended into sleek boots, which made them interesting. The sharp, pointed toes instantly refined the outfit, while the buckled vamps, finished with the brand’s signature hardware, added an edgy, contemporary twist.

The smooth leather shafts reached Diane’s knees, creating a streamlined effect that balanced out the simplicity of the leggings. I loved how the slim 3.5-inch heels added height and elegance.

These boots are now on sale for $770 (from $1,100) at Mytheresa.
