While Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s shimmering Marc Jacobs gown stood out, many others also delivered memorable style moments. Below, we highlight seven standout looks that captured the spotlight.
1. Ciara Glows in Roberto Cavalli Ruffles and Stuart Weitzman Nude Heels
Ciara showcased a blush ruffled silk muslin tie-dye dress from Roberto Cavalli’s Spring 2016 collection, styled with strappy Stuart Weitzman sandals
We love Ciara’s deconstructed princess gown from Roberto Cavalli, made even more flattering by Stuart Weitzman’s nude suede “Myex” sandals, which elongated her legs and created the illusion of added height.

The gorgeous blush-toned dress featured a frilly design and a sexy off-the-shoulder neckline that was perfect for the season. She finished with tousled wavy hair and flawless makeup.

2. Emily Ratajkowski Turns Heads in Jason Wu Silk Slip Dress and Rauwolf Clutch

Model Emily Ratajkowski, always proud to show off her curves, wore a lingerie-inspired silk dress that hugged her figure perfectly.
👗 Explore standout looks from the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards:

- 👠 Karlie Kloss in Swarovski-encrusted Stuart Weitzman “Queen” pumps paired with a playful Rosie Assoulin dress.
- 🎬 Jessica Chastain stuns in a Prabal Gurung gown paired with custom Paul Andrew heels — combining modern elegance with standout designer footwear.
- 🌸 Kirsten Dunst shines in a pleated Rodarte gown with orchid flower jewelry — bringing soft, romantic floral elegance to the red carpet.
The slinky black number was a custom creation from Jason Wu and, unfortunately, can’t be bought in stores. But you can rock a similar look with our slip dress picks.

3. Jamie Chung Pops in Banana Republic Colorblock Dress and Kurt Geiger Sandals

Jamie Chung was one of the few women brave enough to wear bold colors on the red carpet, and we love her for it.
She chose a custom Banana Republic dress that she helped design. It featured a car-wash skirt, halter neckline, and deep slit in two-toned bright colors. To complete the vibrant look, she wore Kurt Geiger “Izzy” sandals.

4. Jessica Chastain Shines in Prabal Gurung Metallic Embroidery and Paul Andrew Heels

The lovely Jessica Chastain wore an elegant strapless number by Prabal Gurung. The glamorous gown featured beautiful metallic leaf embroidery and a surprising mullet hemline that added a hint of edginess to the look.

5. Karlie Kloss Sparkles in Rosie Assoulin Swarovski Gown and Stuart Weitzman Pumps

This leggy supermodel went for a fun and flirty look on the CFDA red carpet. She rocked a Rosie Assoulin white gown with Swarovski crystal embellishments and styled the look with an equally fun updo hairstyle.

6. Kirsten Dunst Stuns in Sheer Rodarte Gown With Orchid Jewelry Accents

Kirsten Dunst opted for a Rodarte dress that featured sparkly beaded embellishments and a sheer, pleated skirt.

She decorated the silver dress with a dangling earring and a real orchid attachment from celebrity florist Joseph Free.

7. Naomi Campbell Dazzles in Backless Brandon Maxwell Black Gown

Naomi Campbell’s Brandon Maxwell black gown flaunted the supermodel’s stunning figure. At 46, this diva is still winning on the red carpet!

8. America Ferrera Keeps It Classic in Black Kate Spade Embellished Gown
Because the CFDA Fashion Awards is a premier fashion event, we anticipated standout looks on the red carpet, and many celebrities delivered. However, some opted for a more understated approach.
One who played it safe was America Ferrera, who chose a classic black Kate Spade dress for her appearance.

The then-32-year-old wore an embellished Kate Spade floor-length creation for the event.

While undoubtedly a timeless wardrobe piece, this dress, unfortunately, failed to significantly impact the red carpet, especially given the high-fashion expectations of the event.

We think America looked sophisticated, especially with the accessories she chose to give the long black dress a more glamorous panache.
