Transition from Barbie to Argylle: Dua Lipa’s Acting Journey
After making her acting debut in Barbie, Dua Lipa is now set to take on a new role in the spy action comedy, slated for release in the US on February 2.
Dua plays LaGrange, a “deceptive dancer with killer moves.” In the first-look teaser for the film, released by AppleTV+ in 2022, a blonde Dua Lipa was seen slow dancing with Henry Cavill, who plays the titular role of Argylle.

On Wednesday, Dua Lipa joined her co-stars at the world premiere of their upcoming movie, held at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London’s West End. She was pictured alongside Henry Cavill, Ariana DeBose, Bryce Dallas Howard, John Cena, Bryan Cranston, Sam Rockwell, and Samuel L. Jackson, but her striking red outfit stole the show.

Gucci’s Custom Design for Dua Lipa: A Fashion Statement
Dua Lipa led the glamour in a shimmering burgundy red gown that matched her hair color perfectly. Italian fashion designer Sabato De Sarno, Gucci‘s creative director since 2023, designed the exquisite gown especially for the singer.
The strapless dress was embellished with purple paillettes and burgundy sequins, adding texture to the flattering form-fitting silhouette. It had a daring bustier bodice with a black velvet-trimmed sweetheart neckline, allowing the singer to put on a busty display.
The bespoke Gucci creation beautifully highlighted Dua Lipa’s incredible hourglass figure with a flared-out hip and nipped-in waist.
Although her shoes were not visible underneath her floor-length gown, she reportedly wore a pair of Christian Louboutin “So Kate” pumps in the same burgundy shade.

Dua Lipa’s Glamorous Hair and Makeup Choices
Stylist Lorenzo Posocco, who worked magic on Dua’s gorgeous evening ensemble, added a gold Pantheré de Cartier necklace, Cartier Cactus De Cartier earrings, and a Cartier Grain De Café ring as sophisticated finishing touches to her already remarkable look.
The Levitating hitmaker, who debuted her new burgundy hair color on Instagram in October 2023, framed her striking facial features with an edgy beach waved hairstyle that hung just below her armpits.
Lisa Eldridge, meanwhile, finished Dua’s seductive vampy look with thick winged eyeliner, mascara, smokey silver eyeshadow, rosy blush, and nude lipstick.

She was later seen leaving the premiere after-party in a bow-detailed sleeveless LBD by Miu Miu, worn underneath a Gucci coat.
Dua paired the look with black tights, finished with open-toe heels and a silver Gucci Horsebit Chain shoulder bag.

Argylle: A Glimpse into the Spy Adventure Movie
The spy action comedy movie is directed and produced by Matthew Vaughn and written by Jason Fuchs.
It features an ensemble cast, including Henry Cavill as Argylle, Bryce Dallas Howard as Elly Conway, Sam Rockwell as Aidan, Bryan Cranston as Ritter, Catherine O’Hara as Ruth, Dua Lipa as LaGrange, Ariana DeBose as Keira, John Cena as Wyatt, Samuel L. Jackson as Alfred Solomon, and Sofia Boutella as Saba Al-Badr.
Argylle is reportedly inspired by the book of the same name by Elly Conway, whose name also happens to be the name of Bryce Dallas Howard’s character, a best-selling spy novelist who is thrown into the realm of her spy novels.
The official synopsis released by Apple TV+ reads, “From the twisted mind of Vaughn comes “Argylle,” a razor-witted, reality-bending, globe-encircling spy thriller. Bryce Dallas Howard is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of bestselling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie.
