Katy Perry made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday evening and revealed how Orlando Bloom proposed!
“It was very sweet,” she said. “It was Valentine’s Day … we went to dinner and I thought we were going to go see some art after dinner but we pulled up to a helicopter.”

“Yeah. I’m glad I don’t have to go on that show now. It was really sweet. He asked me to marry him in a helicopter,” Katy continued.
“The funny part is we had champagne in the helicopter and the [ring] box was in his pocket and he had written down everything he wanted to say on a note. So I’m reading [the note] but I’m hearing the champagne is broken and the bottle’s everywhere … he’s pulling out this box that’s too big for his coat pocket, rips his coat pocket and his elbow goes into the champagne,” she recalled.
Eventually, things got back on track! Katy continued, “We landed on a rooftop [in Los Angeles] — my whole family was there, and all my friends. He did so well.”
And did she help pick her engagement ring? She said, “I voiced my opinions.”

Katy also talked about being a judge on American Idol with Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie and argued that she has filled the Simon Cowell role. “I am definitely like a team player, but I’m probably the more stern, straight to the point, Simon Cowell with tits,” Katy told Jimmy.
