Daisy Lowe, who as a child believed she was the daughter of Pearl Lowe’s ex-lover Bronner Handwerger, took a DNA test in 2004 and realized that her godfather, Bush singer/guitarist Gavin Rossdale, is her biological father.
14 years old at the time, Daisy discovered that neither fertility specialist Bronner Handwerger nor her mother Pearl Lowe shared her O-type blood type. Naturally, she asked for a paternity test to be taken.

According to Pearl Lowe, an English fashion and textiles designer and former singer-songwriter, Gavin refused to speak to her and Daisy after she allowed their daughter to take a DNA test.
Gavin told me if Daisy, then 14, had a DNA test, he’d never speak to me again and he’s kept his word. I lost him as a friend, but Daisy has a relationship with him, which is great.
In her 2007 autobiography titled “All That Glitters” (available at Amazon), Pearl Lowe reveals how Gavin initially reacted to the results of the paternity test and her daughter’s reaction, writing: “Daisy beamed when I told her the result… Later that day I emailed Gavin. There was no response. When Daisy eventually succeeded in speaking to him, Gavin appeared more concerned with venting his anger about my behavior than engaging with his daughter.”

In 2004, Gavin Rossdale was still married to Gwen Stefani. Daisy, who was born on January 27, 1989, was reportedly the product of a one-night stand with Pearl in 1988.
Daisy told the Evening Standard about the difficult time in an interview: ”[It was] a very interesting time. That age is when you’re at your most malleable; you’re developing frontal lobes… I now have a really good relationship with my father. It’s been blossoming for the past year but it really happened over Christmas. We got to spend time together.”

In October 2019, Daisy celebrated her dad’s birthday along with Gavin’s children with ex Gwen Stefani – sons, Kingston, 13, Zuma, 11, and five-year-old Apollo.
‘Happiest birthday dad @gavinrossdale we all love you with all our hearts and we are very lucky you made us ♥️,’ she wrote in the caption of a sweet family snap shared on Instagram.
