Gisele Bündchen looked as free as a bird as she twirled and sashayed in her vintage Chanel gown at the 2023 Met Gala.
Even though she’s flying solo for the first time in 11 years at the annual event since her divorce from ex-husband Tom Brady, Bundchen looked happy and carefree.

A Nod to Chanel’s Elegance
The 42-year-old Brazilian supermodel looked fabulous in her white Chanel gown, which featured sheer panels, vertical stripes, sequin embellishments, and a floor-length skirt.
She posed happily and twirled around giddily to showcase the large white feather cape draped around her shoulders before sauntering up the iconic steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Accessorizing With Chanel
As for her accessories, Bundchen carried a Chanel clutch, wore Chanel strappy heels, and was dripping in white gold and diamonds from her earrings down to her ring.
This year’s Met Gala theme was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, which paid homage to one of fashion’s biggest icons.

Choosing the Perfect Dress
The dress she wore is actually from Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2007 Haute Couture collection, and it’s the same one she was photographed in for a memorable 2007 shoot for Harper’s Bazaar Korea. The man behind the lens was Karl Lagerfeld himself, which made the photoshoot all the more special.
She told Vogue on the red carpet, “I wore this dress in a 2006 or 2007 editorial with [Lagerfeld]. I wore the same dress. So when I was picking a dress, I was like, which dress that is going to be the dress, and I thought this is the one!”

Reflecting on Past Galas and New Beginnings
Gisele Bündchen has been a fixture of the prestigious gala, and she was always accompanied by her then-husband, Tom Brady.
They made their Met Gala debut as a couple in 2008. They attended one of fashion’s biggest nights every year until 2019, when they made their last appearance together, just three years before they made headlines for announcing the end of their 13-year marriage.
A source told People magazine that Gisele Bündchen “is back to herself, she’s good, she’s happy, she’s doing lots of good things. She’s back to work. [When she was with Tom,] she was just focusing on being a mom. With all their moves [because he changed teams] and everything, you have to be in mom mode.”
The source also revealed that Bundchen is “really happy just enjoying her new chapter.”
