Who Looks Best in Giuseppe Zanotti Heel-Less Wedges: Juliette Binoche or Rita Ora?

Giuseppe Zanotti’s heel-less design has already undergone quite a number of transformations. First, it looked like a fin, then it was Noritaka Tatehana-like, and for this spring 2013, it’s taken on a more angular appearance.

The redesigns only make Giuseppe Zanotti’s heel-less shoes all the more easy to identify whenever we spot a pair, such as the ones below that we spotted on Juliette Binoche when she walked the red carpet at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival last week.

Juliette Binoche’s austere pantsuit and blunt haircut set off the sharp angles of her Giuseppe Zanotti heel-less wedges. Bright red lips were her bold and unexpected finishing touch, just like the heel-less-ness of her seemingly simple suede sandals, which she revealed as soon as she turned her back to the cameras.

We also spotted another celebrity in the same shoes. As soon as we saw the angular wedge on Rita Ora’s shoes at the 2013 Brit Awards, we knew instantly that they were the same Giuseppe Zanotti shoes as Juliette Binoche’s.

But unlike Juliette Binoche, Rita Ora opted to take the opposite direction and contrasted her Giuseppe Zanotti heel-less wedges with an elegant draped satin gown.

Rita Ora also kept the gold spikes on the ankle straps. When you put the two versions of the shoes side by side, it suddenly seems like the unembellished ones are sorely missing something.

These Giuseppe Zanotti heel-less wedges are undoubtedly going to be (or already are) big on the red carpet. Who do you think between these two early adapters did them justice? Juliette Binoche or Rita Ora?
