The original cast of I Know What You Did Last Summer, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr., reunited, alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar, at the Los Angeles premiere of the fourth installment in the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise.

But more than just a nostalgic reunion, the black carpet event turned into a fashion showcase. It’s been almost 30 years since I Know What You Did Last Summer first haunted our screens and became a cult classic. This year, the slasher film returns with a brand-new chapter! Original stars Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are back as Julie James and Ray Bronson, the iconic survivors of the 1997 Southport massacre. This time, they’re joined by a new generation of scream queens and heartthrobs.

Now out in theaters, the Jennifer Kaytin Robinson-helmed movie follows five friends whose lives take a dark turn after they accidentally kill a pedestrian and cover it up. A year later, the group begins receiving taunting messages about their involvement in the crime. When they realize that the stalker is imitating a legendary serial killer, they turn to the two survivors of the 1997 Southport massacre.

Let’s take a look at the style moments that turned the red carpet premiere into a fashion display.

Classic Drama: Jennifer Love Hewitt in Aquazzura Pumps & Rachel Gilbert Dress

Jennifer Love Hewitt looked edgy yet timeless in a head-to-toe shimmering black ensemble that perfectly balanced sophistication with a touch of drama.

She strutted down the black carpet in a pair of Aquazzura “Passion” pumps that brought dimension and sparkle to her look from the ground up. These striking shoes, made in Italy, featured a sheer black mesh base overlaid with satin stripes, each adorned with shimmering crystals that caught the light with every step.

Their pointed toes and 4-inch stiletto heels added a refined yet daring edge that perfectly complemented the glamour of her dress. They’re on sale for $976 ($1,395) at Mytheresa.

Jennifer Love paired these striking pumps with a sculpted, form-fitting black Rachel Gilbert midi dress that beautifully accentuated her hourglass figure! The sleek design featured a low-cut square neckline, supported by spaghetti straps, which added to its clean, modern silhouette.

While the fit was undeniably flattering, it was the dress’s shiny 3D geometric embellishments that stole the show, adding texture and a touch of futuristic edge. I love the contrast between the timeless cut and the bold, architectural detailing, striking the perfect balance between classic elegance and modern flair.

A natural brunette, Jennifer Love debuted her new ginger hair on the black carpet, bringing a fresh, fiery twist to her signature style. Her tresses were fashioned in soft waves that framed her face and fell gracefully around her shoulders. When it came to her makeup, she opted for a smoldering smoky eyeshadow, balanced by a soft nude lipstick.

Jennifer Love finished her look with multiple rings, as well as silver and gold bracelets, adding a touch of edge and sparkle to her overall glam.

Whimsical Glam: Sarah Michelle Gellar in Orange Le Silla Pumps & Butterfly Dress

Sarah Michelle Gellar was hard to ignore in her whimsical summer ensemble that stood out beautifully against the event’s moody, cinematic backdrop.

On her feet, she wore a bold pair of pointed-toe pumps in tangerine orange, a striking and unexpected choice that brought a modern edge and a burst of color to the black carpet.

Sarah wore the Le Silla “Deco Eva” pumps, crafted in Italy from glossy patent leather for a sleek, polished finish. The sharp silhouette brought structure and elegance to her playful ensemble, while the high stiletto heels added height, elongated her legs, and balanced the volume of her sculptural dress.

These pumps perfectly coordinated with her structured orange Brandon Blackwood “Kendrick” clutch, tying the look together with a cohesive and punchy palette.

Sarah fluttered onto the black carpet in a whimsical mini dress from Oscar de la Renta’s Pre-Fall 2025 collection. The strapless number featured sculptural butterfly appliques in slate blue, accented with ivory, rust, and black, creating a 3D effect that added drama and dimension to the look. With its playful A-line silhouette, complete with the butterflies’ scalloped edges, the look delivered a whimsical avant-garde spin to red-carpet dressing.

It costs $10,990 at Moda Operandi, which, although undeniably expensive, is reasonable for a dress that blurs the lines between art and couture.

I love how the muted blue color of Sarah’s dress and the vibrant orange of her pumps created a visually striking and fashion-forward contrast!

But Sarah Michelle Gellar didn’t stop at just a bold dress and statement heels; she enhanced her whimsical look with exquisite, fairytale-worthy jewelry. She wore the $5,500 L’Atelier Nawbar “Bond Street” Art Deco Fan Earrings, a dainty tennis bracelet, and a few rings. These include the $5,920 Guita M GR411 Hand-Carved Blue Chalcedony Flower Ring, featuring blue sapphires and a delicate white diamond center, all set in 18k white gold.

She also wore the $9,800 GR431 Chalcedony Crown Ring, another hand-carved blue gemstone piece accented with 0.35 carats of sapphires, also in 18k white gold.

Romantic Minimalism: Madelyn Cline in Paris Texas Mules & Conner Ives Gown

Compared to Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jennifer Love Hewitt, Madelyn Cline’s look offered a much softer, more romantic take on red carpet dressing.

She stepped out in a pair of nude pink “Lidia” mules by Paris Texas, effortlessly enhancing the romantic vibe of her look. These are crafted in Italy from shiny patent leather and feature a sleek, minimalist design, with an almond toe and a pin-thin heel about 4 inches high.

Their understated, barely there design, which blended seamlessly into the foot, offered a polished, modern touch while letting the rest of her outfit shine. These Paris Texas mule sandals are available for $645 at Mytheresa.

Madelyn continued with the minimalist route, pairing her nude pink mules with a blush pink gown by Conner Ives, the London-based designer behind the viral “Protect the Dolls” tee, which advocates for the protection of transgender women.

Cut from fluid silk jersey, Madelyn’s daring yet romantic Spring 2025 gown struck a flawless balance between sultry and soft. It featured a halter neck with a dramatic navel-deep plunge and an open back, showcasing an elegant display of skin while highlighting her curves. An artful ruched detailing down the bodice accentuated the gown’s body-hugging silhouette, drawing further attention to her enviable figure.

The textured detailing continued through the skirt, with intricate gathering around the hips flowing seamlessly into a high-low train, adding graceful movement with every step.

Letting her dress take center stage, Madelyn kept her accessories understated with a selection of diamonds by Gabriel & Co. She opted for a delicate bracelet, a few rings, and a pair of $15,700 huggie hoops featuring 4.25 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold.

Sultry Sparkle: Chase Sui Wonders in Aquazzura Heels & Wiederhoeft Lingerie Look

Chase Sui Wonders took the sultry route for her black carpet appearance, showcasing her toned figure and legs in a lingerie-style ensemble and crystal-embellished sandals. The look was equal parts romantic and risque, just like Madelyn’s, bringing vintage pin-up flair to the event.

Chase stepped onto the black carpet in a dazzling pair of Aquazzura “Tequila” sandals, crafted from laminated nappa in powder pink. The standout sandals featured slender straps fully encrusted with glittering crystals, elevating her sultry look with high-octane glamour.

The adjustable ankle strap ensured a secure fit, while the slim stiletto heels brought just the right amount of height and refined poise, perfectly complementing her romantic, lingerie-inspired look. They’re on sale for $1,298 (from $1,450) at Farfetch.

The crystal-encrusted Aquazzura sandals paired with a silk satin corset top and matching lace-trimmed miniskirt created an effortless balance between high-end polish and boudoir charm.

Wonders chose a look from Wiederhoeft’s Spring 2025 Ready-to-Wear collection, featuring a buttery yellow corset top and a coordinating mini skirt, both adorned with delicate ivory lace trims that gave it a touch of vintage romance.

The corset fit her like a second skin, emphasizing her hourglass silhouette. It was sultry yet structured, with barely there spaghetti straps and a low-cut neckline that revealed her ample cleavage. Intricate floral lace detailing decorated the front, while a silk bow at the center added a soft, romantic finish. It seamlessly complemented her fitted mini skirt, which kept the sultry vibe going. Made of soft satin, the skirt hugged her hips, while lace panels along the sides offered subtle flashes of skin, enhancing the flirtatious nature of the look.

Chase kept her accessories minimal, letting the sultry elegance of her outfit take center stage. She added just the right amount of sparkle with jewelry by Presley Oldham, including a delicate necklace, dainty earrings, and a few understated rings that added polish to the seductive look.

Mod Revival: Sarah Pidgeon in Aquazzura Boots & Prada Minidress

Sarah Pidgeon embraced the revival of 1960s mod fashion by wearing a pair of knee-high boots with a structured strapless minidress. The mix paid homage to the era’s signature silhouettes while keeping the look fresh and modern.

Sarah chose the Aquazzura “Sellier” boots for her feet, crafted from supple leather in a rich aubergine color. The sleek knee-high style featured a round toe, a wide-cut shaft, and a subtle heel that provided just the right amount of lift. I love the addition of the thin, tonal metal chain trim around the soles, which adds a sophisticated touch of luxury to the otherwise understated design.

These Aquazzura boots are on sale for $694 (from $1,854) at Farfetch.

Sarah paired the striking boots with a strapless, butter-yellow minidress from Prada’s Fall 2025 collection. While the combination is unexpected, I love how the boots’ rich tone stood out against the softness of her outfit.

The strapless piece featured a clean, structured silhouette punctuated by oversized tonal buttons that nodded to the playful 1960s mod fashion. It featured sharp pleats at the front, adding dimension to the tailored design, while a subtle ruffled accent at the neckline and hem brought softness to the look, ending high on the thigh to showcase her legs.

I commend Sarah Pidgeon’s choice to forgo jewelry, as it gave her look a clean, minimalist edge that enhanced the impact of her fashion-forward pairing. By skipping accessories, she let the bold contrast between the mod-inspired mini dress and the rich, saturated boots speak for itself.
