Her height is just below the average size of an American woman. In a humorous and self-assured tone, Chastain has occasionally mentioned her height, noting that she’s 5’4″ in real life and has a penchant for wearing heels to maintain that stature.
She has even sported towering seven-inch platforms on occasion, especially when working alongside exceptionally tall co-stars like Tom Hiddleston, as she humorously quipped that she doesn’t enjoy looking up at others due to her “very big personality.”
“The problem with that,” Chastain told The Guardian in 2016 about wearing comfortable shoes to award ceremonies, “is that I’m five four. I don’t know if there will ever be a day that I’m not wearing heels. I’m a very big personality and I don’t like to look up at other people.”

“I love fashion, but it’s like a whole other industry. You have to lie down in the car because you don’t want to wrinkle the dress, so you’re in an SUV – we don’t actually take limos – and you’ve got to put the seat all the way back, but then you can’t mess up your hair, and if you’re wearing a backless dress, it’s going to give you those weird lines on your back. So, actually, we’re all arriving like this.”
“Then I forget to stand up straight on the red carpet, and every time I slouch… How many times does my publicist get those messages? ‘Oh, yeah, they’re wondering if you’re pregnant?’ No. I just stood like a normal person,” Chastain added.

“I always look for a great arc,” Jessica said. “Men get great arcs all the time, especially in movies, but it’s very rare for a woman to get an arc. Catherine absolutely has that. She finds her voice, which is a wonderful thing to play,” she revealed about her character in her Broadway show The Heiress.
