At Delta Air Lines’ Grammy Weekend Celebration in Los Angeles on February 12, 2016, Kelly Rowland kept the focus on clean, understated styling in a military green shirt dress paired with towering nude Aquazzura “Sexy Thing” platform sandals.

The neutral suede heels added both height and balance to the utilitarian look, while Rowland’s mixed-metal jewelry gave the outfit a slightly sharper finish without overpowering it.
During the event, she also addressed the reaction to Beyoncé’s Super Bowl halftime performance earlier that week, praising the presentation while steering clear of the wider controversy surrounding it.

Rowland finished the look with layered silver-and-gold jewelry, giving the otherwise minimal outfit a slightly tougher edge.
Standing at 5ft 7 (170.2 cm), Rowland gained several inches of height from the chunky platform sole and high stiletto heel of the Aquazzura “Sexy Thing” sandals.

Beyoncé debuted her new single, “Formation,” during the event, which drew criticism from some, including former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, who accused her of using the platform to “attack” police officers.
“I thought everybody’s interaction on stage was absolute perfection,” she said. “[Beyoncé] was absolutely amazing.”
“I think that we live in a country where you have the freedom to say how you feel and talk,” Rowland told Us Weekly. “And it’s really from a peaceful place. I think that they’re blowing it out of proportion.”
The then-35-year-old singer also spoke about her then-one-year-old son, Titan, and what it’s like to be a new mother.

Kelly’s nude suede Aquazzura “Sexy Thing” platform sandals have long since sold out, though the strappy cutout silhouette remains one of the brand’s most recognizable red-carpet styles from the mid-2010s.
