We all associate exaggeratedly tall platforms with Lady Gaga, and so does Marc Jacobs.
In February 2016, the fashion designer invited the eccentric pop star to walk for his latest fashion show, which may or may not have been entirely inspired by Lady Gaga.

Needless to say, Gaga was right at home and, therefore, killed it at the Marc Jacobs Fall 2016 fashion presentation at the Park Avenue Armory in NYC.
The then-29-year-old entertainer may not have the height for the runway, but she still pulled off her pistachio green pussy-bow blouse, furry-armed gray oversized coat, and gray platform boots ensemble.

The clothes may look like they were designed with Lady Gaga specifically in mind, but Kendall Jenner—another famous face to walk the Marc Jacobs show—owned the look as well.
Kendall Jenner confirmed on her website that her boots were a daunting challenge. She candidly shared her experience in her blog post: “Rehearsing (in the scariest shoes!!!) at Marc Jacobs. These boots were NOT made for walking.”

With her version in darker black-and-green tones and embellished with black feathers, the It Girl of the moment channeled a Black Swan inspiration on the runway.

Who do you think wore her goth-inspired platform boots better, Lady Gaga or Kendall Jenner?

Lady Gaga does have one advantage over Kendall. The songstress just upped and left the building in her Marc Jacobs fall 2016 regalia, pulling off a completely normal everyday look.

Now, that’s what we call power and influence in the fashion industry!

We wonder if our Your Next Shoes readers are ready for gothic platform boots to make their way to mainstream fashion.
