The COVID-19 pandemic has changed life as we know it. It has altered our daily routines, the way we work and live, and even the way we dress.
Face masks have now become a fashion statement, rubber shoes and flip flops have taken the place of high heels, and sweatpants and leggings have become the new jeans.
As the coronavirus continues to spread worldwide, many prefer to stay at home, dressed in their comfy loungewear.
The COVID-19 pandemic has indeed impacted fashion trends and consumer behavior. But while the majority of society is now giving more priority to comfort than fashion, some prefer to dress up to create a sense of normalcy.
Socialite and fashion influencer Olivia Palermo, for instance, recently told Vogue India: “I’ve been using fashion to help maintain a sense of normalcy.”
“I try to keep the same hair and makeup as I normally would, and yes, the wardrobe may be more ‘casual chic’ than if I was attending in-person meetings,” she added.

She also mentioned owning athleisure outfits, which she reserves for “appropriate activities,” including workout and dog walking. She added: “I was taught at a young age that you have different clothes for different occasions (work clothes, play clothes, event attire, athletic clothes, and so on) and I have always lived by that motto to never mix them up.”
On Thursday, however, instead of wearing an athleisure outfit while walking her Maltese dog, Mr. Butler, Olivia opted to go the casual-chic route.

Like always, the 34-year-old socialite put together a stylish look, slipping her curves in an easy-breezy lavender dress from Tibi.
She went braless underneath her jersey midi dress, which highlighted her slender frame. It features a gathered high-neck with an elasticated strap, a hook-fastening keyhole detail at the back, and a canvas paneling. This dress is on sale for $447, discounted from $895, at The Outnet.

Olivia skipped the jewelry and simply accessorized with a pair of sunglasses from her collaboration with Westward Leaning.
Inspired by the streets in Tribeca, the Moore 02 sunnies ($235 at Westward Leaning) feature a classic frame made from polished translucent sand acetate with matte steel lavender metal along the top. The lenses feature bronzed lavender gradient with frosted pink glass signature side inlay.
She then pulled her hair up into a bun and wore a black face mask for protection against the virus.

A pair of Roger Vivier Sneaky Viv high-top sneakers rounded out her comfy summer look. Made from white leather, these sneakers feature the fashion designer’s signature crystal-embellished buckle detail. They are done in high-top silhouette with elasticated front straps and rubber outsoles.
While these exact sneakers are already sold out, a low-top version can be purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom.
