Laverne Cox, best known for her role as Sophia Burset in the series Orange Is the New Black, took on a new challenge in the hit Netflix drama “Inventing Anna.”

In the Netflix smash hit, Laverne Cox brought to life the character of Kacy Duke, a celebrity fitness expert who served as the personal trainer and confidante of Anna Sorokin, the con artist portrayed by Julia Garner.

Shonda Rhimes, who wrote and executive produced Inventing Anna, cast Laverne Cox as celebrity trainer Kacy Duke in the spring of 2017—reportedly paying her $4,500 for her work with Anna Delvey.

While Cox’s on-screen portrayal showed restraint and poise, her off-screen red carpet appearances during that time—and well beyond—were anything but understated. From sleek gowns to bold heels, she consistently turned heads with her fashion-forward choices, including her now-iconic runs in Stuart Weitzman’s “Nudist” sandals.

In January 2015, Laverne Cox took to the stage and later posed for the press in a white dress at the 2015 BET Awards, held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The actress, reality television star, television producer, and LGBT advocate wore a white, long-sleeved Michael Costello gown featuring cutouts on the sides, a thigh-high slit, and a silver belt.

Laverne kept her accessories simple. She carried a black-and-gold Nathalie Trad clutch and wore a shimmering pair of drop earrings from Jane Berg that matched her silver-toned eyeshadow.

An unexpected and almost unnoticeable addition to Laverne’s ensemble: fishnet stockings.

We can’t help but hate the stockings. We think they take away from the minimalist appearance of her shoes: the classic Stuart Weitzman “Nudist” heels.

The “Nudist” sandals by Stuart Weitzman have been a hit among celebrities, with Kylie Jenner being just one of many celebrity fans.
