3 years earlier, the actress once again melted our hearts as she posed on the red carpet with her husband, who is also a close friend of Maggie’s younger brother Jake Gyllenhaal.

Peter Sarsgaard began a romantic relationship with Maggie in 2002 and they got engaged in April 2006. They married in a small ceremony in Brindisi, Italy, on May 2, 2009.

The daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs, Peter Sarsgaard’s wife graced the red carpet at the 2015 National Board of Review Gala in an all-black ensemble.

Maggie wore a black dress by The Row, which she paired with Paul Andrew “Zenadia” pumps.

We don’t really have much to say about her ensemble because there’s only so much to say about another boring black gown. The Paul Andrew pumps are a bit interesting with the scalloped detail, but they could barely be seen under the sea of her skirt.

While black is a slimming, safe choice, we wish Maggie would have gone with something a little more exciting.
