In February 2021, Paris Hilton announced her engagement to venture capitalist Carter Reum after he proposed during a birthday getaway on a private island. The couple, who first met years earlier and then reconnected in late 2019, shared photos from the celebration on social media.

It marked Paris Hilton’s fourth engagement, following previous engagements to Jason Shaw, Stavros Niarchos, and Chris Zylka.

Wearing a white Ermenegildo Zegna suit, Carter proposed to Paris with an emerald-cut diamond ring designed by iconic jeweler Louis Cartier’s great-great-grandson Jean Dousset. It was reportedly worth $2 million.

Standing in front of Carter, Paris looked beautiful in her Loschy Ariel The Little Mermaid crown and white sequined Retrofete Margarita dress with a hip-high slit.

For one of her post-engagement appearances later that spring, Paris leaned into the glamorous aesthetic that has long defined her style persona, stepping out in West Hollywood in a navy Tanya Taylor maxi dress paired with sharply pointed Valentino Garavani Rockstud pumps.

The studded heels added a darker edge to the soft floral look and reflected her longtime mix of polished glamour and early-2000s party-girl styling.

For her beauty look, Nicky Hilton’s older sister swept her short blonde hair to one side and wore pink lipstick with matching blush.

She kept her jewelry to a minimum, wearing just a pair of large diamond stud earrings and her engagement ring.

Hiding her brown eyes behind her Valentino black sunglasses, Paris added a touch of goth to her elegant look with a Philipp Plein Rich Skull shoulder bag. This sold-out purse features a sparkly skull logo set on a crystal-embellished flap.

Her Valentino Garavani Rockstud pumps were covered with the fashion house’s signature Rockstuds and featured pointed toes, adjustable ankle straps, and about 4-inch heels.

Why Valentino Rockstud Pumps Remain a Celebrity Staple

Paris Hilton’s date-night look showed why Valentino’s Rockstud pumps have stayed relevant for more than a decade. The pointed silhouette, cage-like straps, and signature pyramid studs instantly add structure and attitude to softer dresses, making them a longtime red-carpet favorite for celebrities who want something polished with a sharper edge.

From casual daytime styling to major premieres and fashion week appearances, the Rockstud line continues to appear in some of the most recognizable celebrity wardrobes.
