The Paris Texas “Lidia” Mules have become one of the buzziest shoes of 2025. Madelyn Cline recently wore the nude pair at the Los Angeles premiere of I Know What You Did Last Summer, but it’s Emily Ratajkowski who’s truly championing the style.

While promoting her new Netflix series Too Much, the model and actress has worn the chic heels on three different press appearances: CBS Mornings, The Today Show, and Late Night with Seth Meyers. And with each appearance, Ratajkowski has proven her fashion prowess, effortlessly styling the versatile heels in fresh, retro-inspired ways that highlight her signature blend of polish and personality.

Created by wife and husband tandem Lena Dunham and Luis Felbder, Too Much follows Jessica (Megan Stalter), a recently heartbroken New Yorker who relocates to London for a fresh start. As she adjusts to the unfamiliar city, she faces culture shock. She finds an unexpected connection with Felix (Will Sharpe), challenging everything she thought she knew about love, identity, and starting over.

Emily Ratajkowski plays Wendy, a trendy influencer who’s now dating Jessica’s ex, Zev (Michael Zegen). While in London, Jessica can’t stop checking Wendy’s picture-perfect Instagram, watching her live the life she used to have.

The “Lidia” Mules: Paris Texas’s It Shoe of 2025

The Paris Texas “Lidia” mules combine retro flair with modern polish with their sleek, sculptural, yet timeless silhouette. Depending on the model, these Italian-crafted mules are crafted from shiny patent leather or soft suede and feature a dramatic, curved vamp and a pointed, open toe. They sit on slim stiletto heels of about 4 inches, creating a leg-lengthening look while maintaining a sense of understated elegance.

Like standard mules, the “Lidia” features an open back and slip-on design, making them effortlessly chic and versatile. Their minimalist silhouette goes well with everything, from tailored pants to flirty dresses.

Emily’s version featured croc-embossed leather, which added a rich, textured finish to the mules’ simple form.

Let’s take a look at how Emily Ratajkowski styled her Paris Texas heels throughout her press tour.

Y2K Glam: Emily Wears Archival Tom Ford for Gucci

Emily Ratajkowski styled the Paris Texas “Lidia” mules in a bold and sultry way for her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

She paired the sleek black heels with a vibrant turquoise snakeskin-print mini dress, an archival piece from Gucci’s Spring 2000 collection. Tom Ford designed it during his tenure as the luxury fashion house’s creative director, a position he held from 1994 to 2004.

Never one to shy away from bold fashion, Emily looked flirty and confident in the tiny number. It featured a thigh-grazing hem that highlighted her long, slender legs and a halter neckline that drew attention to her shoulders. This silhouette works beautifully on her, emphasizing her tall frame. Halter dresses are effortlessly flattering, accentuating the upper body while maintaining a chic, feminine appeal.

A dramatic keyhole cutout at the chest amped up the dress’s unapologetically sexy vibe, showing off her cleavage and a glimpse of her midriff. Combined with the halter silhouette and bold snake print, the look radiated high-voltage Y2K energy.

The teal python-print dress by Tom Ford for Gucci, worn by Gwyneth Paltrow to the 1999 Met Gala (“Rock Style” theme), remains one of the designer’s most iconic looks. The beaded keyhole cutout gown was inspired by ’70s icons like Farrah Fawcett and Blondie, and first appeared as Look 36 in Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2000 collection.

The snake-print design gained fashion cult status, worn by other stars including Kate Moss, Gisele Bündchen, Cameron Diaz, and Shalom Harlow across major editorials and covers. It debuted during the same season as Versace’s legendary jungle-print dress, signaling a shift in fashion toward bold, glamorous alternatives to the little black dress.

Emily kept the rest of her look understated, eschewing any statement jewelry save for a pair of Briony Raymond diamond stud earrings. She wore her brunette hair sleek and straight, tucked neatly behind her ears to frame her face. Her makeup accentuated her striking features, featuring smoky eyeshadow, cat’s eyeliner, and soft peach blush and lipstick for a polished, sultry finish.

Retro Revival: Capri Pants & Colorful Emily Dawn Blazer

For her Today Show appearance, Emily Ratajkowski gave the Paris Texas Lidia mules a sleek, modern twist with a throwback edge.

She paired the black mules with fitted black Norma Kamali capri pants that ended just below her knees, showcasing her shoes while also allowing the mules’ sleek profile to elongate her legs. The popular Y2K pants trend is making a resurgence this year, appearing on runways, in celebrity wardrobes, and on influencers, and Emily just showed how to wear it in 2025.

Not everyone can pull off capri pants. They are tricky to style because they hit at an awkward length that can cut off the leg line, making the proportions look unbalanced. But Emily, standing at 5ft 5 ½ (166.4 cm), made them work effortlessly. Her mules also helped add height and kept the look from becoming too cropped.

Emily’s tailored top added structure and polish, elevating the capri pants’ otherwise casual vibe. She wore the $689 “Wedding Button” blazer from Emily Dawn Long’s Fall 2025 collection, which stood out thanks to its visually striking and colorful front buttons—a row of three organically glazed handmade buttons in red, blue, and green colors.

It also featured a scooped neckline and structured sleeves that added to its contemporary, architectural feel. Interestingly, the blazer originally debuted as an off-the-shoulder piece, as seen on the runway. Still, Emily pulled hers up onto her shoulders, creating a more modest and polished appearance. A front slit completes its design, adding a sense of movement and edge to the silhouette.

Emily kept her ensemble effortlessly chic, accessorizing minimally with just a pair of diamond stud earrings and oversized black sunglasses from Thistles, a New York City-based eyewear line by stylist and photographer Thistle Brown. The simple additions let the outfit’s bold tailoring and silhouette shine while lending a touch of retro glamour to her modern look.

Sporty Vibes: Off-Duty Style in Bode Raglan Tee

Dropping by CBS Mornings earlier in the day, Emily kept things casual yet cool, re-wearing her Norma Kamali capris and Paris Texas mules. This time, she paired them with a long-sleeved statement tee from Bode’s Spring 2025 collection, which featured the phrase “I’m a Speed Skater” on the front.

The raglan tee stood out not just for its playful slogan but also for its sporty, retro-inspired palette, featuring a mix of light blue, navy, white, and cream. The color-blocking evoked a nostalgic, athletic aesthetic reminiscent of vintage track uniforms. This injected a dose of quirky charm and laid-back cool into her overall ensemble.

It might be too plain and casual for some, but Emily elevated the laid-back vibe by styling the tee with her sleek black Paris Texas “Lidia” mules and oversized sunglasses. The heeled mules added just the right amount of sophistication, while the bold sunnies gave the outfit a dose of effortless cool.
