A trend has emerged this week, and it’s a controversial one: shoes with pompoms. Both Lake Bell and Ophelia Lovibond were spotted on the red carpet with this interesting addition to their heels.

Lake was seen at the Louis Vuitton 2013 Whitney Gala in New York. Naturally, she was dressed entirely in Louis Vuitton. Lake’s dress from the Fall 2013 collection was of a slim-fitting lingerie style, but her Pre-Fall 2013 pumps took all the attention away from the rest of her outfit.

These luxurious black shoes come in velvet with mink pompoms, which are no ordinary pompoms. These peep-toe pumps also feature beautiful curved heels that are finished with some sparkling rhinestones.

Lake’s black frilly pumps were custom-made, but the frilly pumps also come in navy, blue, and red. Unfortunately, they can’t be bought online, so check out the nearest store to grab a pair.

Earlier in the week, actress Ophelia Lovibond wore a similar pair by Charlotte Olympia for the London premiere of ‘Thor: The Dark World’. Ophelia’s black platform peep-toe sandals offset her studded white Burberry Prorsum dress perfectly.

Charlotte Olympia is known for her quirky designs, and the “Colette” sandals are clearly one of them. Look closely, and you’ll be able to see that each pompom is attached to a poodle head. The island platforms, PVC straps, and stiletto heels provide the finishing touches to these creative shoes.

What are you thinking, guys? Are you loving the fun factor that pompoms bring, or do you want to see the back of them a.s.a.p.?
