Rebecca Ferguson has long been known for her penchant for sharp, boyish styles, and her recent appearances at the Venice International Film Festival for the premiere and photocall of her upcoming movie, A House of Dynamite, reflected that signature edge.

Ferguson wore a sculptural black gown by Maticevski to the premiere, embracing a darkly romantic vibe, then switched to a sharp, androgynous Thom Browne suit for the photocall. She finished both looks with towering platform shoes that stole the spotlight, adding height, attitude, and a commanding finish to both ensembles.

A House of Dynamite at Venice: Rebecca Ferguson’s Latest Role
Rebecca Ferguson attended the 82nd Venice International Film Festival to promote her upcoming political thriller, A House of Dynamite.

Gothic Glamour: Maticevski Gown & Roker Highbury Platform Boots
Ferguson brought a striking dose of gothic glamour to the Venice premiere of A House of Dynamite, commanding attention in an inky black gown by Maticevski, an Australian designer known for his fusion of feminine elegance and avant-garde innovation.
The gown appeared to be made of a richly textured, heavyweight fabric with a knitted appearance, which gave it depth and structure. Its asymmetrical construction added an interesting element, featuring a short sleeve on one side and a sculptural long sleeve with architectural folds on the other. The gown also had a high neckline and a cinched waist, with folds flowing into a long skirt that extended into a dramatic sweeping train.

Minimal Styling Meets Statement Roker Highbury Boots
Ferguson kept her styling minimal to let the gown speak for itself. She eschewed all jewelry, instead complementing the Gothic style with dark nail polish. Her beauty look was equally understated, with soft, barely there makeup paired with loose, wavy blonde hair that fell casually over her shoulders, giving the appearance of effortless glamour.
A daring high slit in the gown twisted open to reveal Ferguson’s striking footwear. While the gown’s bold structure was eye-catching, Ferguson’s shoes, for me, were the real showstopper. She wore the Roker “Highbury” boots, made of smooth leather with sharp, square toes and fitted ankle shafts.

With 7.4-inch heels paired with 4-inch platforms, the boots gave the actress, who stands at 5ft 5 ¼ (165.7 cm) with a shoe size 9.5 (US), a dramatic lift, though her presence hardly needed the boost. They brought an unexpected edge to her look, balancing the gothic elegance of the gown with a sense of modern rebellion.

Tailored Power: Thom Browne Suit & Mismatched Brogue-Style Platform Pumps
For the Venice photocall of A House of Dynamite, Ferguson went for a classic look that was both relaxed yet powerful, embodying Thom Browne’s sharp tailoring with a laid-back edge. She wore a black blazer over a scoop-neck bodysuit, paired with tailored trousers with tonal satin striped sides. The ensemble was elevated by Thom Browne’s signature red, white, and blue striped suspenders, casually draped at the side of the waist, adding a playful touch to the monochrome palette.
Ferguson embraced her minimalist aesthetic, eschewing jewelry and maintaining a similarly understated beauty look. Her makeup remained simple, showcasing her youthful, natural glow, while her hair was worn down in a side part, gently tousled for an effortless vibe.

Mismatched Brogue-Style Platform Pumps Steal the Spotlight
Similar to her look at the Venice premiere, Ferguson’s shoes at the photocall were the most striking element of her ensemble. She selected a pair of eye-catching brogue-style platform pumps from Thom Browne’s Fall 2025 collection.
With their exaggerated, rounded soles, a classic T-strap upper, and delicate perforations, these shoes stood out against her sleek black suit. Adding to their charm were the mismatched platforms, one in solid black and the other in bold stripes.
