In an interview with Refinery29, Jessica Chastain shared that she did not like her red hair as a child.
“As a child, I didn’t want to be different — I wanted to look the same as everyone else because I didn’t want to be singled out,” she told the American digital media and entertainment company focused on young women. “I was ridiculed for having red hair; for having freckles.”

But as she grew up, she learned to embrace her signature ginger locks. Jessica now says she resists covering her red hair with dye.
“Whatever you are ridiculed about that makes you different is what you’ll celebrate in the future,” Chastain said. “If I wanted to dye my hair, I could, but I realized that’s who I am, and my differences (make me) special.”
For some movie roles, she turns to temporary measures instead of dyeing her hair.
“The one way to change my physicality is through wigs,” the two-time Oscar nominee revealed. “Wigs are amazing because they not only change your hair color, they can also change your hairline and the texture.”

For the premiere of her anticipated film It: Chapter Two held at the Regency Village Theatre, the 42-year-old American actress/producer showed off her beautiful red hair in an emerald green crystal-embellished off-the-shoulder gown from the Zuhair Murad Fall 2019 Couture collection paired with Piaget jewelry.

Earlier this summer, she wore an all-white Maticevski Resort 2019 two-piece look at the premiere of Dark Phoenix at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

She styled her chic jumpsuit with Jimmy Choo platform shoes and Chopard earrings. Her hair was done by Los Angeles-based hairstylist Renato Campora.

Just days before the premiere, she underwent wrist surgery. The “Zero Dark Thirty” star shared some details in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel filmed on June 4.
“I had surgery on Friday,” she told the television host, who asked which cast member beat her up. “And I haven’t taken any painkillers because I’m doing press, so I’m in a really good mood right now,” she joked.
Jessica sported her simple wrist cast at the world premiere of Dark Phoenix, which looked much nicer than Mariah Carey’s designer arm sling.
