Selena Gomez was the superstar fans were most looking forward to seeing at the 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards, and it’s needless to say, the actress’s aesthetic lived up to the high expectations.

On Tuesday night, Selena Gomez arrived in splendor at the 2023 Golden Globes Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The Rare Beauty founder, nominated for a Golden Globe for the first time, walked the red carpet in a stunning Valentino masterpiece, a velvety column dress with a daring slit and striking puffed sleeves with a lengthy train.

Without a necklace, collarbones can be the focal point of an outfit, as is the current vogue in Hollywood. Selena Gomez hopped on board by baring her neck and focusing on her De Beers platinum diamond-dropped earrings.

For her signature high ponytail, the beauty guru went to lifelong hairstylist Marissa Marino. A nude lip and smokey cat eye completed her vampy look.

The 30-year-old beauty finished her chic ensemble with a dash of modernity thanks to a pair of black Santoni platform heels.

When “My Mind & Me” singer Selena Gomez attended the awards show, she brought along the cutest date ever: their younger sister, Gracie Elliot Teefey. The two had the loveliest scene together when Gomez asked Teefey to pose for photos with her on the red carpet.

Justin Bieber’s ex-girlfriend’s portrayal as Mabel Mora on the smash hit Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building” earned her a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series- Musical or Comedy.

In addition, Gomez’s co-stars, Steve Martin and Martin Short, were recognized for their roles in the show. The series received four nominations, including one for Best Television Series, Musical, or Comedy.

Gomez shared her joy at being nominated for best actress with makeup artist Mikayla Nogueira in a TikTok video last month.

“Oh my God,” Gomez exclaimed, as reported by Entertainment Tonight. “I’m so excited. I didn’t think I was gonna get— actually, I know I wasn’t gonna get nominated, or I thought. But I’m happy.”

She also posted a now-deleted TikTok, including an interview video from 2011 in which she appeared to have visualized her nomination. “I think that would be an honor, of course, but I’m more of a Golden Globe or Oscar girl. That would be nice.”

According to ET, she said in the post’s description, “Dreams do come true!! GUYS IM NOMINATED FOR A GOLDEN GLOBE. brb gonna scream.”

Although Gomez was honored as the show’s executive producer at the 2022 Emmys, this Golden Globe nod was her first individual nomination for the series.

Gomez said in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter that it’s been challenging to be taken seriously as an actor and not just a Disney icon.

The “A Rainy Day in New York” star said, “I felt like it was very difficult for people to take me seriously. I have slowly pushed through that, and I’m really glad, but it was very frustrating. I felt like a joke, you know?”

Kaley Cuoco of The Flight Attendant, Jenna Ortega of Wednesday, and Jean Smart of Hacks were also nominated, but Quinta Brunson of Abbott Elementary took home the Award.

It’s clear that Selena Gomez is a fashion icon, and her style inspires fans worldwide. While she may not have won this time, we look forward to seeing what she’ll wear and achieve in the future!
