Miley Cyrus may have finally found her match, guys! The twerking pop star has been battling it out on Twitter with ’80s veteran singer Sinead O’Connor. The feud started with Sinead’s open letter addressing Miley’s recent wild behavior, saying that the 21-year-old singer is being “pimped” by the industry with her oversexualized image.

This reaction was prompted by Miley Cyrus’ admission that her “Wrecking Ball” video was inspired by O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” hit video.

Cyrus took offense to Sinead giving unsolicited advice, so she turned to Twitter to retaliate, comparing Sinead to Amanda Bynes, who, as we all know, is currently undergoing treatment for mental illness. Then, to add further insult, Miley reposted some old tweets of Sinead, seemingly to mock the veteran performer’s troubled past.

This post was captioned with “Before Amanda Bynes… There was…”

Now, Sinead has written her fourth open letter, demanding a public apology from Cyrus, who is apparently making fun of mental illness and those who suffer from it.

Miley… Really? Who the fuck is advising you? Because taking me on is even more fuckin’ stupid than behaving like a prostitute and calling it feminism. You have posted today tweets of mine which are two years old, which were posted by me when I was unwell and seeking help so as to make them look like they are recent. In doing so you mock myself and Amanda Bynes for having suffered with mental health issues and for having sought help.

In this Twitter war, we’re totally siding with O’Connor, who was only trying to reach out to a troubled young star. At the same time, Miley overstepped the little boundaries she had left with her insensitive comments that could seriously affect people who are silently suffering from mental health issues.

Watch Sinead explain her disgust over Miley and the pop stars of this generation on The Late Late Show:

Although we don’t agree with everything Sinead claims, we can’t help but admire her bravery in calling out Miley. You’ve got to admit there’s some truth to what she’s trying to point out in her statements. So, are you team Miley or team Sinead?
