At the Los Angeles premiere of The Housemaid, Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried stepped onto the red carpet looking incredible in two completely different yet equally striking outfits.

Standing side by side, their looks didn’t just contrast visually; they also had a symbolic quality that reflected the film’s own tension.

Both actresses brought their own energy and sense of style. And that contrast is what made this red carpet moment noteworthy. Amanda leaned into something sharper and more modern, while Sydney embraced Old Hollywood glamour.

The Housemaid is a psychological thriller centered on a young woman, Millie (Sydney Sweeney), who’s trying to start over, only to find herself pulled into a dangerous web of secrets.

Millie takes a job as a live-in housemaid for a wealthy couple who seem perfect at first. The position feels like a fresh start, especially after her troubled past—she has a criminal record and is on parole. But it doesn’t take long for things to feel off. Strange behavior, unspoken rules, and mounting tension begin to surface. The wife, Nina Winchester (Amanda Seyfried), is unpredictable and controlling; the husband, Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar), is distant; and the house slowly becomes unsafe.

Old Hollywood Reimagined: Sydney Sweeney in Custom Galia Lahav

Sydney Sweeney looked angelic in a custom white gown by Galia Lahav. The dress could easily pass as a bridal gown, but it wasn’t overly delicate. Instead, it struck that perfect balance between softness and sensuality, perfectly in line with Sweeney’s aesthetic.

The plunging halter neckline instantly drew the eye; it’s a silhouette Sydney often gravitates toward. The gown also had a ruched, cinched waist that sculpted her figure beautifully. From there, it flowed into a softly pleated, floor-length skirt that moved effortlessly as she walked. The feathered trim at the hem added a dreamy, ethereal finish, making the entire look feel light and cinematic.

I couldn’t help but think of Marilyn Monroe when I saw her ensemble. The pleated white halter immediately reminded me of Marilyn Monroe’s famous outfit from The Seven Year Itch, which symbolizes glamour, innocence, and undeniable allure. Sydney didn’t just wear the dress; she embodied that old-Hollywood fantasy.

Vintage Waves, Art-Deco Diamonds & a Quietly Elegant Shoe Choice

Her beauty look carried that same vintage feel. Her blonde hair fell in soft, cascading waves, swept over one shoulder, while her makeup stayed timeless, with mascara, eyeliner, and a bold red lip that pulled everything together. It was glamorous, yet polished and elegant.

Sydney finished her ensemble with dazzling jewelry from Jacob & Co., including the “Brilliant Riviera” platinum and diamond earrings, the “Annika” ring with its art-deco-inspired cuts, and a sparkling diamond bracelet.

While her shoes weren’t visible on the carpet, the look called for something clean and understated—most likely a pair of classic white heels. A sleek pointed-toe pump or a refined open-toe sandal would have aligned seamlessly with the gown’s bridal elegance, allowing the dress’s silhouette and texture to remain the focal point.

Modern Siren Energy: Amanda Seyfried in Monse Sequins & Jimmy Choo Heels

If Sydney’s look was ethereal, Amanda Seyfried’s was all about impact. She went bold in a red sequined mini dress from Monse’s Pre-Fall 2026 collection, and the effect was striking.

What I loved most was the texture. The sequins were wonderful, creating a liquid, molten effect under the lights. The strapless bodice draped fluidly to the waist, where a knotted wrap detail shaped the skirt, creating an asymmetrical hem and a thigh-high slit that added a sultry edge.

Compared to Sydney’s sweeping gown, Amanda’s dress was simpler, but it didn’t feel understated. In fact, it looked powerful. The bold red hue against her complexion was stunning, and the shorter length made the look feel modern, confident, and wearable.

High-Impact Jewelry & Barely-There Gold Sandals

Seyfried elevated the look further with statement jewelry from Tiffany & Co., including a standout fish symbol necklace famously worn by Dua Lipa at the 2024 Grammys. The intricate piece was crafted in platinum and 18k gold and set with rare Umba and Padparadscha sapphires, along with orange sapphires, rubellites, and diamonds. It reportedly took 1,017 hours to create, making it a true work of art.

Her accessories continued with Tiffany’s Schlumberger Sixteen Stone ring and a Vigne ring, both adding extra sparkle. Amanda wore her hair in soft, glossy waves, and her makeup echoed the warmth of her outfit, with rosy blush, defined lashes, and a soft coral lip.

On her feet, Seyfried wore the Jimmy Choo “Minny” sandals in gold, which perfectly complemented her fiery look. Crafted in Italy, the shoes featured delicate, slender straps that elegantly wrapped around the foot. They were set on slim, high stiletto heels, adding height and a graceful silhouette.

The metallic gold finish caught the light beautifully, offering a subtle shimmer that contrasted with the red sequins of her dress. Despite the bold mix of rich red and gleaming gold, the combination looked effortless and cohesive, tying the entire ensemble together.

The choice of Jimmy Choo’s gold “Minny” sandals also places Seyfried’s look within a broader red-carpet lineage of minimalist elegance. This barely-there stiletto has been a go-to for stars time and again: Emma Stone paired salmon-pink Minny sandals with a floral Gucci dress at the StyleMakers Awards, Olivia Munn turned heads in metallic Minny sandals at the MTV VMAs, and Nicole Kidman stepped out in the same strappy silhouette at The Upside premiere.

Even Scarlett Johansson showcased black velvet Minny sandals on the Avengers: Infinity War carpet, proving the sandal’s versatility across premieres and award shows.

Playful With an Edge: Awkwafina Mixes Prints, Proportions & Platforms

Awkwafina showed her support for the film and its cast, arriving at The Housemaid LA premiere in a simple yet edgy ensemble. While the outfit combined different patterns, colors, and textures, it never felt overwhelming. Instead, each piece worked in harmony, creating a balanced and cohesive ensemble.

She wore the “Graphic Dreams” silk twill blouse by Dorothee Schumacher, covered in a delicate tie-print motif that gave it a polished, vintage charm. The classic shirt collar and removable bow detail added a touch of whimsy, but what really made it work for me was the unexpected red turtleneck layered underneath. The flash of color echoed the print’s rosy tones, instantly tying the whole look together.

Bubble Silhouettes, Leather Layers & Chunky Satin Pumps

Balancing out the refined top, she tucked everything into a bronze satin bubble skirt. The shape was youthful and playful, softening the tailored jacket and blouse. Topping the outfit with a black leather jacket sealed the look, lending it a sharp, urban flair.

Down below, Awkwafina finished with black satin pumps featuring chunky squared toes. I liked how the slim ankle straps introduced a hint of femininity, while the sturdy block heels kept things practical, instantly boosting her 5ft 1 (154.9 cm) height without sacrificing comfort.

A fan of platform heels, we’ve also featured her in a pink-and-red feather shirt dress paired with metallic-silver Larroudé peep-toe platform heels.
