Is white the official gown color of the year? From the stunning red carpet appearances we’ve witnessed these past few weeks, it certainly seems so.
Despite being only in the early days of February, we’ve already seen many white dresses that could last us a lifetime. Now, it’s time for a round-up. Who do you think wore this color best, and who needs to reconsider their fashion stylist? Let us know your thoughts!
1. Rosamund Pike in Valentino
The ‘Gone Girl’ actress earned approval and disapproval in her bridal-inspired Valentino ensemble.

“The thing that was usual about this morning is that usually I’m awakened by somebody who wants food,” Rosamund told TheWrap right after getting the nomination for Best Actress for her work in Gone Girl.
“This time it was by somebody delivering amazing news.”
“It was delicious chaos,” she added. “Me and the two boys in the bed talking to people on the phone. I shift from talking about nominations to talking about dinosaurs.”

2. Marion Cotillard in Dior
The 39-year-old actress wore a Dior Couture gown similar to what Jennifer Lawrence wore a few months back.

She was nominated for Best Actress for her work in the movie Two Days, One Night.

3. Ginnifer Goodwin in Delphine Manivet
Ginnifer Goodwin mostly failed in this rather unflattering Delphine Manivet dress, which she paired with Palter DeLiso pumps.

She accessorized with a Jill Milan envelope clutch and a Cathy Waterman bracelet.

4. Emily Blunt in David Koma
Emily Blunt hit all the right notes in her David Koma S/S 2015 dress. She completed her look with Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals and Jennifer Fisher jewelry.

5. Laura Carmichael in Vionnet
The ‘Downton Abbey’ star looked a little dowdy in her Vionnet dress with sheer details.

She and her co-stars from Downton Abbey won the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, beating out the casts of Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Homeland, and House of Cards.

6. Reese Witherspoon in Armani
The red carpet veteran showed off her curves in this one-shoulder gown from Armani. She was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category for her work in Wild.

7. Jessica Chastain in Antonio Berardi
The 37-year-old donned an intricate, Oriental-inspired gown from Antonio Berardi. The gown has the right mixture of conservative and glam but without being too boring.
“Today is Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday so it got me thinking about our need to build the strength of diversity in our industry and to stand together against homophobic, sexiest, misogynistic, anti-Semitic, and racist agendas,” Jessica said on stage while accepting the Critics’ Choice MVP Award.

“I’m an optimist and I can’t help but feel hopeful about the future of film, especially looking at all these beautiful people in this room. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, ‘Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter’ and I would like to encourage everyone in this room to please speak up.”
8. Paula Patton in Aiisha Ramadan
According to many, this gorgeously-beaded Aiisha Ramadan gown is one of Paula’s best red carpet choices.

9. Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace

The ‘Good People’ actress drew attention to her boobs in a very low-cut, very revealing, bejeweled Atelier Versace gown.

10. Kris Jenner in Emilio Pucci
The Jenner-Kardashian matriarch made sure she looked classy in this pristine white Emilio Pucci gown that she paired with a stunning pair of cage heels by Sergio Rossi.

White dresses may look simple and clean but aren’t as easy to wear. Despite the challenges, these celebrities took on the trend with varying degrees of success. Who do you think wore it best?
