Earlier this month, Zoe Saldaña revealed on The Late Late Show that her mother regularly confuses her for Thandiwe Newton.
She shared that her mom thinks Thandiwe Newton‘s character in Westworld, an American science fiction Western television series, is actually played by her: “My mom still thinks that I’m in Westworld,” the 40-year-old actress joked.
“I’m like, ‘Years ago, you thought that I was in Traffic.’ I’m like, ‘Mom, you did not give birth to Thandiwe Newton,’” Zoe continued.
“And then again, she was like, ‘Your show is on HBO!’ And I was like, ‘Which one?’ She goes, ‘Westworld!’ I was like, ‘When are you going to understand I am not Thandiwe Newton!’”

Zoe still remembers meeting Thandie for the first time: “And then I met Thandie at the Golden Globes a couple of years ago and I hugged her,” she said, adding, “I kind of scared her because I didn’t tell her why I was invading her space. I was just like, ‘Oh my god, please tell me that people confuse you with me.’ And she’s like, ‘Who are you?’”

“But we text now! We’re friends. So we’re sisters,” Zoe concluded.
On Monday, she joined Brie Larson at the Avengers: Endgame premiere held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Downtown Los Angeles.

The American actress and dancer hit the red carpet in a magenta one-sleeve dress from the Givenchy Spring 2019 Haute Couture Collection featuring an embellished neckline.

Known for her corn-filled feet, she completed her look with jewelry from Jared Lehr and Givenchy sandals. Her look was styled by Los Angeles-based stylist Petra Flannery.
