Putting teeth on shoes isn’t an entirely new or even an entirely scary concept. We’ve shown you those Scott Hove monster shoes with fangs and tongues — we called them the “Shoe of Your Nightmares” but some of you even said that they’re the shoe of your dreams.
But try switching out the trendy vampire teeth for human-like teeth and the result is inexplicably a thousand times creepier. Make that rows upon rows of teeth, like a whole mouthful of them, just like on these ‘Apex Predator’ shoes by artists Mariana Fantich and Dominic Young:
‘Apex Predator’ shoes
Fantich and Young took a pair of men’s brogues from British footwear brand Baker, glued 1,050 teeth dentures on the soles and finished them off with two gold teeth at the toes.
These supposedly represent the ruling elite who are at the top of the food chain with no predators to fear (hence the name ‘Apex Predator’).
Take a moment to wrap your mind around that and then let us know if you’ll consider these to be your Halloween shoes.
Just looking at these elicits shudders.
