Aside from the Met Ball, another event that is always swarmed with stylish celebrities and designers alike is the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards, which is an event that honors excellence in fashion design. This year, the 2013 CFDA Awards took place at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City on June 3.
The CFDA Awards is dubbed as the Oscars of fashion, so everybody expected to see dressed-to-kill attendees. Many got us stunned in their beautiful floor-length gowns, but we’re all about shoes here, so we’re a little disappointed that we were not able to see what heels most of these celebrities were wearing. Fortunately, there were also those who opted for cute mini and mid-length dresses, allowing us to spot some of the killer, striking heels at the event. Lily Aldridge and Candice Swanepoel were already featured here, and we have more shoes spotted below. Who do you think wore the hottest pair?
Olivia Palermo in Giuseppe Zanotti Booties
Olivia Palermo was all about glitz and glamour that night. She looked fresh and stunning in a Dennis Basso spring 2013 fringed frock, which features a gold-embroidered sheer bodice and an ombre fringed skirt. While a pair of dainty-looking light gold sandals could’ve perfected her look, she opted to add more shimmer by wearing those metallic gold booties.
The booties have a sporty look, so I don’t think they’re perfect with her dress or for the event. Still, we can’t deny that they are indeed stunning. They are made of shiny calfskin with corset-like lacing that surely made them a lot interesting. Open toes, open backs, and about 4 1/4-inch two-tone plated heels complete these booties.

Olivia’s shoes are from the Giuseppe Zanotti spring/summer 2011 collection, and, as expected, they’re no longer available online. However, here is a similar design from the same brand that you might like:

Miranda Kerr in Stuart Weitzman Pumps
Another fresh-looking celeb of the night was Miranda Kerr, who donned a Proenza Schouler fit-and-flare frock. She styled it with black satin pumps by Stuart Weitzman, which added sophistication to her very fun and feminine dress. The pumps have triple buckled straps and V-shaped pointed-toe vamps.

We believe these pumps are from Stuart Weitzman’s fall 2013 collection, so they’re not yet available online. Anyway, we found a similar style from Saint Laurent:

Nicole Richie in Giuseppe Zanotti Pumps
Nicole Richie was probably one of the best-dressed celebs of the night. She looked like a sexy goddess in a Marc Jacobs fall 2013 evening gown in metallic gold lamé. It’s a backless gown that kind of revealed a side boob, too. Some of you may probably not like it, but Nicole definitely managed to work it for her slender body.
Nicole paired the dress with metallic gold pumps, which are also from the same collection. These sleek pumps in mirrored patent leather are a classic. They have pointed toes and about 4.5-inch cone-shaped heels that can surely work with whatever ensembles — even with jeans, that is if you want to make a statement even in a casual outfit!

Like her pumps? They’re also available in black and red versions.
Kate Mara in Brian Atwood “Carla” Pumps
Kate Mara was rather simple in a mini black dress with cutouts by Dolce & Gabbana. While simple earrings could’ve probably worked best with this look, Kate selected an emerald green necklace, which is undoubtedly gorgeous but didn’t seem to complement the entire look. Anyway, to match her dress, she chose to wear peep-toe pumps that feature mesh with laser-cut patent leather in latticework that’s also embellished with silver studs.

Rooney Mara in Brian Atwood “Aida” Sandals
Kate Mara’s younger sister, Rooney, also opted for Brian Atwood heels. Their looks were actually similar as they both donned black. We’ve always expected this look on Rooney, though, since she always has that minimalist styling during red carpet events.
She wore a Calvin Klein fall 2009 laser-cut dress, and she styled it with black Brian Atwood sandals. Those were just simple satin sandals with cutouts at the vamps and heel counters. They also have peep toes, slender ankle straps, and about 1-inch platforms and 5-inch heels.

We couldn’t find Rooney’s exact satin sandals, but the following are two versions of the same style from Brian Atwood, which are now on sale:
Brian Atwood “Aida” Sandals in Black Raffia with Black/White Leather, $839 (before: $1,195)
Brian Atwood “Aida” Sandals in Multicolor Suede, $699 (before: $995)
Alessandra Ambrosio in Gianvito Rossi “Marina” Sandals
Like Nicole Richie, Alessandra Ambrosio also picked a backless ensemble. She slipped into a one-shoulder, backless number from Kaufmanfranco, which she styled with white earrings. We’re so glad that she lifted the skirt up a bit when she stepped down from her car as that revealed her black-and-white heels.
The sandals, which are from Gianvito Rossi, feature white leather with black striped piping both on the straps across the toes and on the cuffs with leather ties.

Jessica Chastain in Givenchy Sandals
Jessica Chastain is clearly one of the simplest celebs that night. She was just wearing a strapless Givenchy corduroy dress with draped chiffon detail. And what better heels to finish this look than with a pair of Givenchy sandals?
The sandals are equally simple in suede with piped leather trimming. The interesting details are the gold-tone shark-tooth lock closure at each ankle strap and the gold-tip stiletto heels.

Jessica Stam in Christian Louboutin “Dufoura” Sandal Booties
Model Jessica Stam brightened up the red carpet as she donned a striking yellow peplum dress by Rebecca Minkoff. While everyone else was sophisticated in dresses and gowns, Stam was clearly in a playful summer mood in her ensemble, which was also styled with colorful accessories. Moreover, she finished her look with bright neon Louboutins.
These Louboutins are of mixed media. They have transparent neon PVC at the ankles and metallic lilac bands across the toes, making these sandal booties head-turning enough. Additional features include pale gray suede at the heel counters, white trimming, and 1.5-inch platforms and 5.5-inch heels in red.

We have already featured these sandals before on different celebrities. Cassie has this exact same version, Carrie Keagan has them in neon pink, and Taylor Swift, Jenny McCarthy, and Gwyneth Paltrow have the more toned-down version. Would you like to have them, too? Which color version would you pick?
Hilary Rhoda in Jimmy Choo “Lance” Sandals
Unlike Jessica Stam, fellow model Hilary Rhoda chose to show a sophisticated and yet edgy black-and-white look. She picked a monochrome Helmut Lang draped dress, which she styled with black Jimmy Choos.
The sandals feature wavy straps that create a sexy cutout effect, plus they also have double ankle fastening straps.

We have seen these heels many times already (perhaps since 2011), and they come in different versions. You can check out the metallic versions at Saks ($850) and the patent leather versions at Jimmy Choo.

Ellie Kemper in Rupert Sanderson “Mion” Heels
Ellie Kemper was quite sophisticated in a black-and-gold number. She was in a Naeem Khan fall 2013 frock with embroidered gold-tone beads that seem to show a captivating fireworks display. She accessorized with black-and-gold earrings and a knuckle clutch, and she finished her look with matching golden heels by Rupert Sanderson.
These leather sandals feature baroque cutouts and leather-covered stilettos that measure about 4 inches. They undoubtedly complemented Ellie Kemper’s getup, and she clearly brought some shimmer to the red carpet.

Hailee Steinfeld in Jimmy Choo “Linda” Sandals
Hailee Steinfeld is never afraid of experimenting. And here, you could see her wearing a two-piece ensemble from Suno that got her tummy showing a bit. It’s a playful yet stylish number fit for the 16-year-old. Her shimmery bright dress complemented her glittery Jimmy Choos.
The sandals are actually quite simple in silhouette, but the glitter fabric surely made them a stunner. They have peep toes, adjustable ankle straps with logo-engraved buckles, 1 1/4-inch platforms, and 5 1/2-inch covered heels.
