On their wedding day, Holly managed to pull off a surprise that stunned Rodney. She had orchestrated the appearance of the entire University of Southern California (USC) marching band, a true feat considering their numbers.
Knowing that Rodney, a former USC quarterback, held a deep connection with the school, Holly arranged for the band to wait in a bus down the hill from the venue for about an hour before they had to come up.

Holly and Rodney welcomed four children, each with their unique story. Their twins, Rodney Jr. and daughter Ryan Elizabeth, were born on October 19, 1997.

Their family expanded with sons Robinson James, born on August 11, 2002, and Roman, born on February 25, 2005.
However, Rodney Jr. was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. This news shook both Holly and Rodney to their core.
In the same Essence interview, Holly recalled her initial response: “When we got that news, I curled up for almost two weeks with the curtains down. In those days they gave you no hope.”
Rodney, too, struggled with the revelation, grappling with a sense of helplessness. He admitted, “It was a blow to my manhood… I was stuck on ‘I’m going to fix my son.’”
