The TV and fashion industries are slowly opening their doors to different kinds of beauty, including transgender celebrities. Some parts of the world, it seems, are finally more accepting of the unconventional — from plus-size models to trans-woman stars.

1. Andreja Pejic: Pioneering Androgyny in High Fashion

Born Andrej Pejic, this Australian model walked for Jean Paul Gaultier’s runways and became the symbol for fashion androgyny on the catwalk because of her look.
